Marin San Quentin 3 Review/Thoughts

Would you recommend the san quentin over the marin rift zone ( full suspension ) for general day to day riding of mixed city riding, trail, mountain etc ?

I'd probably say yeah as it may ride more efficiently and if you aren't doing much in the way of mountain biking there are other more efficient bikes. But if you want a softer feel and the price is right a full suspension may make sense. But if you're predominantly on the road there are bikes that would be way better suited for cruising on asphalt

hey hey there's the review video we were looking for! pretty cool bike... i get the sentimental value too, but if you love this one, you might want to think about that Marin El Roy... super slack, steel frame, and more suspension... that = tons of fun! i have a boutique steel ht of similar geo to that el roy, it's a whole different experience!

Id be interested to try other hardtails, but honestly idk if I go anywhere other than with the San Quentin as I just have more fun on my full suspension (even if going back to the hardtail made token more fun). I was close to trying to take advantage of the planet cyclery clearance sale, but for what I would've done it just was too expensive for it to make sense!

love that color scheme. thanks for the vid! Can I ask how tall you are and what size you went with? im 6" 210 and have a '22 size xl. im usually right between LG/XL and thought id upsize here, which it feels good but now i feel the seat tube is a little too tall (maybe riser bars will help) im really looking at frame swapping to the newer '23 frame for the shorter seat tube.

Indeed! Yeah I love the paint job on this bike more than any other hardtail (of course super subjective). So, I'm 5'9" and Im on a medium! I know that doesn't help much, but I also think I remember the medium range went to 5'10"?

Definitely a killer paint scheme on that! So I ended up purchasing a 24 sq3 frame with the white/black/red color way and will do a frame swap. I think in my larger size bike the seat tube is just too high and I’m not very happy with it. Yours looks great in that med size!

@@seok1607 I really like that color way too! Its a fun bike for sure, but yeah running into the saddle would be such a pain so I can understand that
