i played this today as i set fire to an old su*cide note i'd written. I watched the fire eat away at the paper and i knew for a fact that all the sadness inside me HAD melted away. :) I used to listen to this in tears, yearning for a day when I could be happy, yet struggling to believe it would come. But it did. I'm so happy, so fully content and grateful for everything in my life. It's been a journey - one of therapy, medication, spirituality and reconnecting with people, but I made it. if you're struggling right now, i need you to know that you'll make it too. You absolutely can be happy, as hard as it may be to believe right now. hang in there, loves. you're doing great

I'm never gonna have that day. Everytime I feel better something bad happens or I just mess it up for myself and cause myself to be sad. I've tried 3 different meds and I hated them and I hate therapy.

@@PrimadonnaDoll everyone responds differently to different forms of treatment! i’ve had to switch therapists several times for numerous reasons, and still have days where i feel like medication isn’t doing anything for me. as much as it sucks, there really is no once and for all cure. :( some days are harder than others, and i still feel like crap sometimes but what changed is i now know i am capable of happiness. life is a whole rollercoaster (cliché, i know,,,) but it’s worth it. i just tell myself that being human is feeling both ends of the emotional spectrum :’) happiness isn’t a forever cure, but i promise you can still be content. best of luck in your journey bby i believe in you

When people say this song sucks and it's not as good as her older work, this is my opinion on the matter. Marina is supposed to be enjoyed like a book series. She's not meant to be a surperficial artist who hits top 40 for a week then gets forgotten about. Her albums are different chapters and eras of her life which she's so willing to share. Listening this song after first being introduced to her in family jewels actually made me pretty emotional. Her transition from complicated emotions and heartbreaking anxieties into feeling a simplistic happiness blew me away. I was so surprised to hear this song. I was impressed how flawless marina was able to musically and lyrically share her transition from sadness to happiness in such an authentic and personal way Marina and The Diamonds I'm so proud of you :)

I love this new album so much. What upsets me is the fact that all my friend's think her new stuff sucks. I think this kind of music you really need to listen to more than once in order to appreciate it and actually like it. I remember when I first listened to FROOT I didn't really know what was going on lol but after a few times of listening to it, it eventually got stuck in my head and I fell in love with it.

Lauren Solano Lauren you have to believe in yourself and yes listen to what others say but do not let them affect what you believe. FROOT is clearly Marina's best album. it is less poppy and therefore less immediate. But she has moved on. her new stuff is more subtle and .....deeper.

Lauren Solano Why does it even matter what your friends think about the record? What's more important is if you like it. lol. I always find it so strange when "fans" are adamant that you have to love everything an artist does. I love Marina's work, but I felt Froot was by far the weakest of her three records. Props to her for doing the lyrics herself this time around, but sonically this record is pretty uninteresting. There's some catchy hooks and thoughtful lyrics, but I'd also say this album has some of her weakest hooks. This and Savages are the only songs I can sit through. Just because someone doesn't like something doesn't mean they don't "get it" or haven't tried to give it a chance, either.

Trevor Culp As you rightly say each to his own Trevor. But as a fan of Marina pre first album (NME tour) this is my fav record by her. The only track I do not like is "Froot" but the rest are excellent particularly "I'm a ruin" , Savages, "happy" "and better than that ". I think this album is less poppy and immediate but more thoughtful and deeper. More interesting and for me.....................her best yet. I have just bought the Florence and the Machine new album. She is someone who I have always thought was a level up from Marina but I think there is now not much between them after the latest albums.

This might be my favorite song and I can't believe it. This song makes me feel nostalgic about how sad my past was and the unrealistic expectations I had, but at the same time acknowledges that I'm happy now. Like, before I was youthful in a weird tragic way, now I am happy... I'm in this phase of my life where I'm also desperately alone, and I have been this way for so long that when people try to come closer, I build a huge wall, because I simply forgot how it is to have company and how to deal with it, and that scares me quite a lot. I can relate to this song so much right now. Since I can remember I was depressed, unhappy with my life, with myself. About a year ago my mother passed away in such a tragic way that I though that I wasn't strong enough to continue. (she commited suicide) But here I am. And I was so sure that I would never be able to be happy in my life without her. With that kind of stigma. But for the first time I'm learning to love myself , starting to feel happy, and I "never thought that I could be - I could be". But like the this month froot, this happiness is a little tart because she's not here to see this and I think this is the only kind of happiness that I'm gonna be able to experience from now on. On december 12th when I woke up the first thing I did was pick up my phone and download Happy. And as i listened to it i started to cry. Thank you Marina. I have lost count of how many times your music helped me get through certain moments of my life. Whenever you feel sad or unsatisfied, remember this. I'm going to see you on Lollapalooza Brazil 2015 and it's going to be one of the happiest days of my life. And I have a special request: please please please: sing Are You Satisfied and Mowgli's Road, it would make the day even more perfect because they mean a lot to me.

I've lost my dad two years ago. I found Marina's songs so relatable to my life. And in this song when I heard "I belive someone's watching over me. And finally I foun the way to be happy" I cried. I miss him everyday of my life and I suppose you miss your mum also, of course. I thought I was never going to recover because I have dealed with depression most of my life, an that was like the point where I didn't want to live anymore. But music helped me so much, I can't even explain. I love Marina so much and I hope you feel happy now and forever. Do it like me an think about your mum, how she is proud of you and wants you to be happy. Everybody deserves to be happy, but we have to find the way to be it. Thank you, Marina. You've been with me since 2012. Not personally, but through your music, you made me grow. When you released FROOT I was going through a really hard phase of my life. I cried really hard the first time I heard this song, it made me feel hope. As the months went by I still felt not worthy of anything. Until one year later I decided to change my life after analyzing over and over FROOT. I decided to start loving and have a better relationship with myself. It has been almost 6 months since I decided to change. And I feel grateful, even though I still deal with a lot of my past, with many insecurities, I can say that I've grown, I'm a different person now, now, like you sing "I believe". And that is something that would have never happened if you weren't there for me. I'm crying right now by the way hahaha but because I feel proud. So thank you. Because you, through who you are, your music, and the way you approach your fame, change people lives for the better. That is something that cannot be paid on one million lives. I let food control my life. One day I just cut it out. I was living in a foreign place, with no friends. I was so alone, and depressed. So I starved. I wanted to be beautiful. I lost my period. My hair started falling out. My skin turned white. I couldn't feel anything. My heart stopped. I almost died. I was not beautiful. Now I have friends, after a long, difficult road on recovery I am vegan, eating, happy, and I just got my period back this week. Anyone who is starving that is scared to recover, trust me, you need to do it. I am so happy I did. Starving caused more problems then it solved. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. This song is probably not about, like her finding a comfort in God or a soothing presence on some sort of religion, but if it was, I could really relate to it. I mean, I know people on here couldn't really care less about a individual person's feelings, but, what stood out to me was when she said "From the concrete to the coast, I was looking for a Holy Ghost." Because people usually, who are interested in finding out who God is, look everywhere. And one day, like the one that marina describes, it just comes to you when you ask for it, and you get this sense of someone really kind and gentle. Really, I feel like marina was struggling with her unhappiness and then suddenly, when she needed it most, because there was something bigger than her, like stress in her way and she couldn't relax, a happiness came to her.

After being bullied for many years, I felt this song was my "light at the end of the tunnel". 2015 was such a wonderful year, with the fact that this song came out around then. The fun thing about music is that it's subjective. There's an infinite amount of ways it connects with you. You hear a song, and you associate it with a time, a place, a person, or something. And none of your connections are wrong. When Marina wrote this, she had happiness in mind and being able to look after herself.
