Every single time I watch this video, it breaks my heart. When she's putting the individual pieces together, I feel like it's the circumstances of life that make up little parts of us - how every screw is put in, the bars laid out the exact way... It's reminiscent of the way I see some of the crap that happens in people's lives. Blessings in disguise. The way the diamond comes together at the end, discernible only in the last 15 or so seconds, not perfectly aligned but still beautiful... I guess that's life. That's the big picture.

I think the song is about more than 1 thing, most of her songs are. But for me personally, it's like she wants to explain her anxiety. She is stuck inside a cycle of fear and she can't get out, in the night overthinking works even better than over day what sucks, on some days you are fine and everything is okay, on other days it's difficult just to breathe, on Sundays anxiety hits because you're anxious about Monday, anxiety makes you act/feel like you have an OCD often, you feel like people are staring and like your cheeks are red all the time and you may be not able to buy something in a supermarket, you always try to get out of a situation that you're anxious about.

You are right. This song is about what you’ve written. That OCD part hits too hard, also how many times I left the store because I felt like people were waiting and I was just blocking the aisle, the pressure was extremely overwhelming so I left with nothing.. I deal with severe anxiety, depression, ocd, Ed, bipolar and addictions so Marina’s songs feel like she wrote them for me to save me. Been a Diamond for over 10 years and always will be, she was my best friend when I was a teenager (TFJ and EH eras) and helped me become a 24 yr old adult I am today 💎🖤

@@eden_marie like any other disorder we spoke about. A person feels and acts on it, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to be diagnosed with it like ever. And every OCD is different, even the intrusive thoughts thing depends on a person, there’s no one definition of it. Yeah anxiety and OCD are two different things but they meet at certain points and have a lot of similarities. A lot of OCD develops from untreated anxiety. Unless you had something different in mind.

Coming back to this song as an adult who has better control over their OCD now, this feels like a warm blanket. Marina's music helped me so much as a struggling teen with raging mental health issues. She always inspired me to remain sensitive and to not be afraid of being emotional.

This song is the best representation of OCD in any song out there. It shows how sometimes just doing everyday things can be ruining by your brain just by one little epitome. Going to the supermarket, but if you don’t choose the _right_ packet, something bad will happen. Maybe they were just bad luck anyways? It’s a perfect example. Ha, it's funny you say that. I have a mental illness that causes me to have panic attacks. Often times when I go out in public I will wear a hood/hat and headphones to help myself stay calm. I also made a playlist of songs that keep me calm in public areas and this song is on it. It's very relaxing to me. :)

I know marina is probably never going to read this but I just want to say thank you this song means so much to me. I had OCD since I was 8 y/o I didn' t get treatment till I was 18. This song was something that keept me srong when times were bad. My illness got so bad when I was 15 that I couldn't get out of house or even get up from bed, my life was one compulsion after another and lots of your songs made me not want to gave up. My OCD always went hand to hand with my Anorexia at my worst I weighted 50kg to haight of 183cm. And this was the only song that describes how I felt, I can't help but cry when part with crackers comes up bescause it's so fucking real. I just want to say thank you for making this song.

marina's music has been such a constant in my life. been listening since I was about 11 years old (am 23 now) and I don't even know how to describe how much her music means to me. made me feel less alone, put sounds and lyrics to emotions I couldn't describe and helped me work through that shizz and was a comforting reassurance. even the super-sad songs were such a comfort because music is a safe space in which to feel whatever you're feeling. her style has grown so much, and it was so wonderful to me that her songs had describing new emotions that I had been experiencing as well, new concepts that I had been considering and that always feels scary when you do it alone so to be able to form a soundtrack to it is amazing and to be reminded that anything you feel or struggle with, others also feel similar things as well. we are never truly alone ever. the raw pain and loneliness in the earlier albums have been softened by a whole lot of tenderness, empathy, love for people and humanity and introspection and while the change in tone is no less beautiful, I think it is pretty friggin cool how if you listen to her albums from her oldest to her newest work, you can hear the emotional growth so very tangibly. i think artists sharing their work like this is just so powerful, we need 'em, and Marina is truly one of the Greats. bless.

Marina, unlike some of others "popstars", is very honest and wrote her songs herself. Also, she doesn't talk about money and her love story in her songs, but topics like anxiety or here, OCD. That's some of the many reasons I love her. She's a great artist that keeps music alive today.

Going back to this video gets me really emotional for some odd reason. I have never loved an artist more than i love Marina. I'm so proud on where she is now and how much her music has progressed. I don't think I have 1 Marina song that I don't like and that's very rare for me because I am picky. I am so excited on what she has in store and for FROOT to come out! I only see Marina getter better by album. Marina is such a sweet heart and has such an amazing personality.
