I was in Singapore in 1999 and they never had this or the marina bay sands hotel. There was an amusement park that I remember. There was another merlion head that looked quite different from this at the amusepark. It shot a laser light show out of its eyes and onto the city. I can't remember too much but I think the amusement park was where the marina bays sands hotel is cause the light show went over the bay onto the skyrise. Anyone else remember how singapore was in 1999 if they can confirm this for me? I can't really find any pictures or info on this amusement park anymore that once was in singapore.

You must be referring to the Merlion at Sentosa Island. Laser beams were shot from it's eyes during the show. Sadly, this tall Merlion structure was demolished in 2019 to make way for a link bridge. You may goggle Merlion Sentosa to see the pictures.

@@theclaybeartravels3596 In the past, we never had any amusement park on Sentosa. We now have Universal Studios Singapore there. A huge amusement park adults and children.

@@CMChen you know what, I think my mind may be playing tricks on me. Now that I think of it, I think it was just more of a walk and look at stuff type deal. I don't know where I got the idea that I saw roller coasters. I never actually went on any roller coasters when I was there and I'm a roller coaster fanatic. I think we walked to an area where there was a history lesson written on a board and then we walked to the next area too. There might have been ads in brochures to send us to a nearby amusement park. I do remember one of the coolest parts was seeing a part of the beach and the history lesson told us that it was used during WW2. We eventually hung out all day until dark and watched the laser light show from the giant merlion stature. It really cool.
