I have been so helped by you. I am very grateful. Try to de-stress. Don't try to do everything hug the kids and love the dust bunnies. When you have this you want to help others heal and this keeps you going. And it improves the success rate of cure. Love Doro

I had deep flap surgery 25 years ago. No regrets.

I remember when my eyebrows came back after chemo, and then they started falling out again. I started to freak out. I made an appointment with my dermatologist to find out why. I listened to one of your videos, and you mentioned your eyebrows falling out after chemo. I canceled my appointment after hearing your video. My eyebrows came back. Thank you for that piece of information and all that you do. 😊

Cancer is a metabolic disease. Dr. Thomas Seyfried. Sugar (and carbohydrates, which turn into sugar in the body) feed cancer cells. I wish I knew this when I went through chemo!! Since then, I've switched to a Ketogenic/Carnivore diet and I feel sooooo goood! I'm 4 months post chemo and my tumor is shrinking. The best thing, no more pain and much more energy!! 🥰

Hi Marina. I live in Australia. I've been watching your vids for a while now but never seen the lives [because of the time difference] and never commented but I want to say I find your vids empowering. I'm a very positive person but your vids seem to put the icing on the cake. Thank you. I'm doing a trial out of the US. I'm on Disitamab Vedotin for bladder cancer which unfortunately metastasized. I've been on the treatment now for 18 fortnightly treatments [and I have to say I feel incredibly well, unlike a previous chemo I had which was not the case] 2 treatments ago I started with neuropathy. I was given 2 fortnightly breaks waiting to see if the neuropathy would reduce but it hasn't so now I've been given a green light to take a total of 12 weeks break. Of course they can't say how severe the neuropathy will get if I continue. If I do continue my concern is will the neuropathy ever go away. They can't give a positive regarding that either. Can you tell me if you've had any experiences, either with yourself or anyone else, how far to continue if the drug continues to cause neuropathy.

Hi! Thank you for commenting and watching from Australia! Are you icing your hands and feet during chemo? This can help prevent neuropathy. Also, I found acupuncture to help prevent it. Neuropathy gets better but can take 1-2 years to mostly go away. The question becomes what is the best treatment to beat your cancer then manage the symptoms. Talk to your medical team of course. ❤️

@@MarinaBlackford Thanks for that Marina. I've asked about the ice before but apparently they don't do that here. I didn't think about acupuncture but will certainly give that a go. Thanks for the tip.

Hold on, Marina! Chemo belly?? Now that’s something nobody mentioned to me; never dreamed that was even a thing. I had figured maybe step up the diet/exercise/intermittent fasting when the fatigue abated. Could you throw me a line with some info on it? How do you fight it?

Hi! Yes, sounds like you have a good plan. “Chemo belly” is explained here: What is “Chemo Belly”? kzbin.info/www/bejne/pF7SaGyse95jg5I

Hello, I have the BRAC 1 gene. I've had a fulll hysterectomy with stage one ovarian cancer I am scheduled for a double mastectomy June 17 with reconstruction . I am wondering what kind of sports bra worked for you? Having a hard time finding a good fit

After surgery you will be wrapped up so no bra. When you buy one it will be based on your back example 34b but was 40D now wearing XXLX and light sport.D

Yes, after surgery they gave me a front close bra to wear. I think it was Hanes brand. I found front close sports bras to be best. I also like soft, stretchy bras after surgery. These can be found in the lounge section at Target or Walmart.

Did you have any reactions in your eyes? I happen to be on Taxol chemo ( I don't know if that may make a difference). Have not yet read but want to read "what I wish I knew before chemo..." . I too have TNBC. Also did you have an adjustment to life when done with Chemo? Seems I have gotten in a mindset and routine. Changes ahead !!?? THANKS for any thoughts and suggestions! 🌺🩷🌺

No reactions in my eyes but. My eyes were dry(but I also live in a desert). I use eye drops. Yes, there are adjustments after chemo: energy level, neuropathy, mindset, anxiety. It’s different for everyone! I have a survivor playlist I can link.
