I don’t expect next year or two to have any significant changes vs the current 16 pm. 15 pm almost is same as 16 pm so if you get it at a good price I think go for it. Sadly it’s quite outrageous and disappointing that Apple with billions of dollars in rnd can only make such measly incremental updates and sell it as a new iPhone each year. They need to give us a better set of features to upgrade each year.

Using the 15 pro max now and love it. I don’t make it through a day of use if I’m working but on my off days I can manage going to bed with 50-60% still. If I’m working, yeah I need to get a bit of juice at dinner time. I use my phone at work for podcasts, KZbin videos, Netflix in background and or music. I wonder how the 16 pro max would hold up with same demands.

Well, I upgraded from the 6s Plus - and you said it, but recently was sent the 15 for near nothing to use for business. You're correct, the heat of the 15 is never felt with the 16 PM. I don;'t use the cameras (as much as others would) but can appreciate changing 120fps after the fact to 60, 30, or 24. Just the speed at which things load, the quality of the audio and calls, and I never experienced a drop call yet - even 2 stories underground, in elevators, etc. Just an awesome improvement.

My issue with the 15PM was the heat issue. Would get hot with just normal everyday use and Apple said there was nothing wrong. Got the 16PM and don’t have those same issues. So the upgrade was worth it for me.

I'll keep it simple. I upgraded from the longest supported iPhone (6sPlus) to the iPhone 16 Pro Max (and received a second phone (15) for another line. As you can imagine, there are generational improvements from the 6sPlus - including just the sound quality of a call - and the ability to hold onto reception of that call underground and in an elevator. I was surprised to see the height and width of the 16 Pro Max wasn't much different than the 6s Plus. What is much different is the thickness and real estate of the usable portion of the screen - making the iPhone 16 Pro Max appear a lot larger. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is faster opening apps, has double the refresh rate (and it shows), has a much longer lasting battery, and of course, has much better camera video and still images. I use a larger camera sensor for my photography, so the iPhone is not something I needed because of the cameras - but that said, it came in much more use than I imagined. Compared to the iPhone 15 - the large screen on the iPhone 16 Pro Max makes a big difference. Although it's silly, I like the look of Siri on the Pro Max better. We will see as I dive into the AI features if that, in and by itself, is a reason for someone to consider either pro max.

To be clear (and the sound quality on calls is light years better), I really didn't need the camera/video aspects of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. I have a different camera I use for that - albeit, the phone is a lot lighter. Taking a step back, so far, the most appreciated improvements have been speed with which apps load and data moves, and the phone quality itself (my Mom, who is hard of hearing, and previously had to put me on speaker just to hear me, now hears the conversation just fine. That makes it worth it. Still making my way through all the features, and I was sent an iPhone 15 for near nothing to use with business items. Sound on that phone is also excellent, so clearly I've been missing out. Not sure how the 16 Pro compares to the Pro Max, but after using the PM for 2 weeks, I'm very happy with it compared to what I'd been using :-)

Agreed 101% I am upgrading as my iPhone 15 pro max dies quick. I make sure to never let the battery go anywhere near 10% and I barely use many apps. I also close all my windows so there is not much at all consuming data. While I understand there will not be much when using day to day there are a few important aspects as to why I upgraded.
