It is quite a jump. If you went with the 13 pro, it'd have been an upgrade, but you'd definitely have that feeling that the whole experience is a little hollow and unnecessary. Instead you're fully enjoying your purchase because it's well worth it.

It’s not so bad, I’m actually really liking it so far I love the bezels I love how nice the screen looks, I love the camera it looks great with the beautiful cinematic mode on video recording and the brand new little bar for notifications on the top still excited to see what other features this new phone is hiding but for one full day of use got to say I’m pleased and satisfied with my upgraded.

I appreciate the Porsche reference. I am a huge 911 fan. I own 9 Classic Porsche 911's. I agree that they have changed and improved the 911 over the years. When you dive the old generation to the new. (356, 912, G body, 964, 993, 997, 991, 992) there are huge differences. Same with the iPhone. Similar exterior yet underneath, it's improved. The care taken in the improvements, not to ruin the look and feel like a Porsche 911 or the iPhone. Nicely done. .

Believe it or not, the 15 Pro was enough to make me turn in my S22 Ultra. It finally brought me back from android, the USB-C port was a major factor, and actually the action button too, and that’s because I’m used to being able to quick launch my camera by double tapping power, iPhone doesn’t do that, but I take a lot of pictures so that’s important to me. And now i just programmed my action button to launch the camera. That was enough to bring me back.

A good thing to note is that most people aren't upgrading from the 14, but the 13 or earlier, which means we also don't have Dynamic Island, an Always On Display, and all the small stuff the 14 previously had. It really does compound over time.

I went iPhone 15 pro from S22 max. After a month: Battery seems better than I was getting with my S22 Ultra. I was expecting it to be worse but it has easily outperformed it. I’m not playing games. Primarily browser, audio, KZbin and camera. I do not miss the larger screen. I do NOT miss the fingerprint reader. Face ID is excellent and it allows me to use a glass screen protector. It is always smooth and apps like both the ones I use for my 2 cars (VW and ford for a Mach E) definitely work better and more consistently. I’m impressed.

I went from a regular 11 to the 15PM, and the camera is pretty incredible. I was able to get some pretty nice shots with the 5X zoom. And the only issues I've had with overheating so far have been when I used the official Magsafe charger. Other than that, I am quite satisfied with my purchase so far.

I went from the 12 pro max to the 15 pro max and I love it, it’s speaker is loud, good quality, dynamic island is great, I listen to music a lot and drive a lot using my gps so I love the island and what it does. Battery lasts like 30 hours while using it pretty frequently, screen is beautiful, mine hasn’t gotten hot. I’d say if you’re waiting 3 years between phones, that is about the sweet spot, my 12 pro was great but I couldn’t hear much out of it, speakers were super quiet, battery started to drain quickly, still a great phone though.

I’m jumping from an iPhone X to the 15 pro and as a parent, I’m 100% setting the action button to launch camera. I want the barrier to photo time to be as short as possible. Upgraded from 11PM to 15PM. Upgrade feels significant to me - especially in battery life and performance where my 11PM was letting me down (too many nights out with my phone run out). Was also holding out for USB-C. But tbh the most notable thing has been 120hz which was on 13/14 as well. Action button is great (I do a lot of skiing so having a button to launch the camera without having to take my gloves off/wear gimmicky touch gloves is great), so is MagSafe and the camera is killing it. If I had a 13 or 14 I don’t think I would’ve upgraded though.

@@merci5023Honestly the size in the hand doesn’t feel that different to the 11Pro Max. I’d say that the rounded edges of XS/11 series are definitely more ergonomic (honestly I don’t know why everyone was screaming for the squared edges to come back). However it feels a TON lighter than the 11PM which is nicer IMO. The screen on the 15PM also feels larger despite having the same footprint, I think because of the smaller bezels but also the higher brightness. One thing I’d say is that the camera bump on this protrudes SIGNIFICANTLY - probably the same with the 13/14, but this thing doesn’t sit flat even with a case which is the one thing I’ve found infuriating.

Why does no youtuber mention that the selfie cameras of the 15 pro / pro max models take pictures like zombies? There is an incredible difference between what you see on the screen and the image saved in the gallery. Camera is worse than Nokia 6670. I will have the 15 Pro Max tested by people passing by in front of the Apple store and then set it on fire so that the whole world will see the fraud committed on the 15 series.

The main issue I see with the Action Button is the lack of multi-purpose use without having to go into settings to change it each time. For example, on the Pixel phones, single clicking the power button will lock/unlock the phone, double-clicking the same power button will launch the camera, clicking and holding the power button will either bring up the power settings or launch the Google Assistant, and clicking the power button five times will start Emergency SOS, notify your loved ones of your location and call 911 for you. The Action Button should be able to have similar multi-purpose functionality like this.

I think I even saw a shortcut already that recognizes double clicking. Of course it would be nice if you Apple would provide this out of the box but the shortcuts offer a lot of possibilities.

@@My_House_ In my experience the iPhone and Pixel take great pictures, but with all their "enhancements" on top. This Xperia 1 V takes pretty good pics in basic/auto mode, but comes to life in manual mode if you want to tinker around with creativity. It really depends on how much time you want to put into taking the photo. You can't really go wrong with any of them, they'll take great shots. I like the Xperia because I know I took the shot, not the AI/Computational photography

One thing you should keep in mind though is that for the same price as an iPhone Pro Max/Xperia 1 V you can get a Pixel and (if not all, then a good chunk of) a dedicated Canon/Sony camera. The Xperia is a kind of "fall between" of a phone camera and a dedicated (Sony) camera. Whilst I have a lot of fun taking pictures and nailing a great shot after adjusting settings, it still is a mobile camera and not quite as robust as a dedicated camera. The basic/Auto mode produces great pictures but the meat is in taking RAW pictures and post editing. The iPhone and Pixel will 9 times out of 10 just take a great picture straight out of the pocket. The video on the Xperia is also fantastic, and S-Cinetone for mobile along with the 4K 120fps across all lenses is brilliant. But again, you have to work for the result. Straight out of the pocket I've not had a phone record video as good as an iPhone. In contrast, I find Pixels take great still shots, not too bad with video and certainly getting better, but the still shots with the face unblur are top notch. Ignore "magic eraser" as it is easily replicated in post process, unless you want to do it on your phone of course, but in my experience it isn't great for accuracy. All that being said, it has to be a phone you are happy to use day in day out. I prefer iMessage over RCS messaging on Android. I prefer the look and feel of my Xperia over the iPhone, but there is no denying the iPhone has a tougher screen and a brighter screen. I prefer the front firing stereo speakers on the Xperia, but the iPhone I remember being a bit louder. I prefer the clean Android on the pixel, but then the iPhone gets fewer bugs and more updates. Which is why I appreciate MK saying you really can't go wrong with any of them and should just go with the one you like regardless of "this beats that in this area" etc.

I honestly just traded in my 14 pro max for a 15 pro. Just for a lighter smaller build. I never cared for the size of a phone or the weight until a little over a year of using the 14 pro max. As a skateboarder, snowboarder and dad. The 14 pro max was just too much. I rest my phone on my pinky and my pinky has been actually sore from holding the phone. And it’s not like I’m on it all day either. I’m really enjoying how comfortable the 15 pro has felt thus far.

Here is what I think, reviewers need to be more realistic The dynamic island is a gimmick to hide the notch. No matter how useful they try to make it, widgets and notifications on any phone can do the same thing. Usb-c is pitiful, for over $700 they should have given people the fastest transfer rates. All kinds of phones have repairable back glass for years, Apple anti consumer practices have been explained away for far too long. I never recommended Apple, they are anti-repair, anti-ownership, anti-consumer, and anti-open ecosystem. If they are so great at engineering and software, there is no reason that in 2023 IOS needs to be closed off and incompatible with non-apple products to work correctly. It's all done deliberately.

I had the first generation v10 it was a big oile of garbage, it only last me 1 and a half year... the chip used to burn before time. The technology it had was crazy but bad experience. I wonder how are they doing now... Is it good to try one this day?

The new Pixel 8 Pro is a week away and I have had Google phones since the 1st Nexus. My current phone is Pixel 6 Pro. Everytime I'm thinking a new phone I still look hard at the iPhone and now that they have gone to USB-C I am once again on the fence. IPhone 15pro or Pixel 8 Pro? I think the rumor Google will throw in a Pixel 2 watch might be what swings my buying decision.

Part of me really wants to update my iPhone 12 to the 15 Pro but one of the things that I’ve really missed on the base iPhone is the zoom lens. And if they bring the 5x to the 16 Pro next year then I would be pretty disappointed I didn’t wait especially since my 12 is still going strong! I also want to see how the overheating and battery life plays out over the next few weeks before I’d consider upgrading.
