The Okinawans are their own culture and that libtard Carter should never have given Okinawa back to the Japanese who themselves were invaders to the islands nation. I served in the USMC stationed at Camp Hansen in the 80s. I can sympathize with the indigenous population after too many really bad incidents involving US servicemen. The island has been of strategic value because of the ability of rapid force projection but the training value for marines was negligible with really only the NTA available. Actually with Chinese military projection of long range missiles it may make total sense to have a standoff buffer back to Guam. Kadena AFB will probably be the last of the US bases. It was cool to hear and sometimes get a glance of a SR71 “Habu” taking off or flying over.

In June of 1969 on my USMC R&R to Honolulu from Danang we stopped in Guam to refuel. It was the first time I ever saw a B52, we could hear them in Vietnam but they flew too high to see, they were lined up like cars for sale on a car lot, I could not believe something that big could get in the air but many did coming to the rescue of Marines surrounded at Khe Sahn as the precision bombed the NVA right off the perimeter.

Smart move Reactivating the Bace especially with the heat with China. If it is going to be an all out Naval Base Then the Marine Corps Would have to reactivate 2 Divisions of Marines to cover all that ocean mass of Islands, especially the Northern Marianas 'Saipan, which happens to be US commonwealth territory. For over 70 yrs the United States of America has stymied any and all forms of war reparations for those brave Chamorro people that were subjected to all form of brutalities that if the Geneva Conventions were in existence at the time would have been deemed unlawful. These Chamorros were abandoned by the very military forces that didn’t view the indigenous population as equals but as liabilities as they weren’t US Citizens at the time but mere nationals. Now as we turn a chapter in Guam’s history with over a century as an integral part of the United States the island fortress stands as a united front with lands taken from her people to not only defend itself from America’s adversaries but used as a platform to continue US hegemony in the largest ocean basin on this planet. The people of Guam deserve a right to vote for president that ultimately will call the shots to sacrifice not only the island itself but place her people in harms way once again as we move closer to war with China and North Korea . Guam’s time has come. Let’s not miss this opportunity to do what is right for her people and provide just reparations and full citizenship rights for their elected Congressperson to have voting rights along with her people.
