The part that is overlooked is how long it takes to make the design for the STL files. Even using an image, you’d still have to isolate all of the individual sections and then slice it piece by piece.

Ive tried this inlay several times, and it is friggin hard. A lot of the smaller parts break off. And I also see you did it in 4 different steps(maybe 5). Ordered a cnc machine, will be getting it in a couple of months and will purchase your layout for the EGA. Thanks so much man for sharing your knowledge of all this!

This is next level cool. I bought your couese to try and dial in my end grain inlays. I’m getting closer… but having issues still with really detailed stuff. You don’t mention in your course how you set your plugs. I know you use the mallet to tap them in and your course said clamping pressure will affect results. What do you use? I have been using a sacrificial board and a bunch of deep throat c clamps because I don’t have a press. I appreciate the videos. You create some amazing stuff. -Ben Rudman

Marine here, been wanting to make a project like this for myself for a while now ,but cant ever find good files think I will be purchasing these. Just as a heads up the DOD takes their seals serious especially the Marines, so if you plan on making these and selling them constantly you may want to get a hobbyist sellers permit. You can get one for up to 2 years if your making the items by hand as a "hobbyist" and selling them. Just a FYI for you. this is sick BTW

Superb work, Nik. I was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam. I purchased your "parameters" course and have been making perfect inlay projects ever since. I would very much like to purchase the SVG or DXF files of this project so I can make my own Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. It would hang proudly in my shop. You have my contact information on file. You might want to try using a fly cutter to flatten instead of the 1/4" endmill you currently are using. A fly cutter would drastically reduce the machining time for your projects.

As always your work is fantastic. As far as a cnc unit goes, did you just get the Stepcaft cnc? It looked like you were using an Axiom Pro in the past. I have been trying decide on the Stepcraft and the Axiom Elite for the same style of work. I'm guessing if you did get the Stepcraft recently, it was for upgrade in size and maybe accuracy? Thanks again for the great videos. Like I said before, it's nice to see the true potential of smaller cnc's.
