Awesome display by the Marine Corps EA-6B Prowler as part of the MAGTAF (Marine Air-Ground Task Force) demonstration.

I stood right on the edge of a runway in Iraq in PT shorts while one of those took off at full throttle. One of the few decisions I've made that I genuinely regret and feel stupid about. Turns out ground crew wear helmets for a reason. That sound will _shake your brain._

When on the cat, it will my your eyelashes shake and your teeth chatter...those engines will blow you away if you don't secure yourself.

Back when the Nav flew EA-6B's they were THE LOUDEST, and NOISIEST jets at launch. Even beat out the F-14A's.

Id eat my lunch at the beach and wave at the pilots as they came in. They would wave back and look at me funny. 🤣

Nice little tour and the end. I love all the "odd" planes nobody ever sees. It would make one hell of a privately owned fun in the sky ride.

I lived on base there at Cherry Point from 93-96 in my high school years. I remember when they retired them there. Used to have a couple sitting on unused part of the flight line (north end) where they did the motorcycle safety course. My dad was Ops Chief of the PMO at the time(when there were still Marine MP's and not this base security crap they have now) and took me to one so I could draw one for a friend of his who used to fly them. I miss Cherry Point. Will forever remember the sign at the main gate- "pardon our noise it's the sound of freedom".

Highly underrated aircraft. Sad to see them being phased out and an aircraft I would love to fly.

No you wouldn't it. The pilot in the queer A-6 is one fo the most bored of all pilots except the E-2. You fly big circles in the sky. They may train for escort missions but I NEVER saw them fly a REAL one in the 20 years I flew Intruders

That EA-6 you walked around is here in Ohio at MAPS. It was neat seeing this and the F-14 here. It’s was cool getting up near the cockpit of both airframes, it sure will be missed.

If only this (or the regular A-6) were designed to carry the avenger. The navy could’ve had their own version of the warthog.
