The Last USMC AV-8B Harrier Demo || VTOL Jump Jet || MCAS Cherry Point Airshow 2024

Witness the last and final airshow demo of the US Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier II. This is footage of the Harriers demo on both Saturday & Sunday at the 2024 MCAS Cherry Point Airshow in Havelock, NC. Due to this iconic aircraft's imminent retirement in 2026, it's a bittersweet moment to see the last public airshow demo of the iconic VTOL Harrier jet. The sound of the Harrier taxi is such an iconic sound and to see this jet hover and fly backwards is awe-inspiring!
This jet really was a childhood core memory for me. My dad would take us to the St. Louis Air Shows and we were always super excited to see the AV-8B Harrier demo right before the Blue Angels Demo. I'm very fortunate to have been able to see this AV-8B Harrier II Jump Jet at the last-ever airshow demo with my own eyes! It's an honor to help create content to help preserve this memory for so many other air showgoers!

I remember seeing the Harrier in a James Bond movie. From that day to this day, my fascination with the plane remains the same. Lovely video. I thoroughly enjoyed the very steady filming.

@@PrestonMonoc You got way better taxi footage than I got both days. Also way better footage than I got the first day. Ended up being like 10 people back the first day and some girl was on her dads shoulders and blocked part of the hover....looking back at the footage I don't think she really cared about seeing the harrier, she was more interested in looking at the ground. Sigh.

It has been slated for a 2026 retirement! We shall see if its extended!

10 years ago we had 8 squadrons, now we are down to 2. Next year we we’ll have 1 unit left. All but less than 40 harriers (estimate) have been scrapped. They can’t be used for a long time if there aren’t many left

Hay FFS, just had an idea. Why not send the retiring Harriers to Ukraine! Probably better than F16s as they can operate from no/poorly prepared areas. Would be a real PITA for the Russians.

@@britblue That was the Sea Harrier GR3, remember that the USMC used theirs as a ground support platform! You can’t compare the A-4 & the French Super Etendard (2 subsonic aircrafts used by Argentina ) to the Russian fighters used a against Ukraine!

@@fastlaneproductions92 indeed I cut off parts because 1 there was copyrighted music and I’d like to monetize my channel while I am not able to at this moment because I don’t meet the metrics eventually I would like to not get my profile pinged, additionally those parts were either out of focus or shaky.
