Thank you. The video answered all my questions and I was able to identify the ECMs on my engines. And able to do so with out any doubt because you took the time to clearly and in simple detail point out the differences of each unit. Mine are 3s because my engines don't have crank and cam sensors.

93 model year for the 502 big block was first mefi 1. the 320 efi was in the 80 s ( 87 thru 89 ) used basically an outboard ecm that took a special scan tool back then. I do ecm repair everyday

Hey Ted, would love a video on Volvo evc steering overview. Tips and tricks for EVC steering failure error codes. Fluids up but still getting error of steering failure when trying to plane.

Have you gone through the steering calibration? You need a Vodia tool for that. It could be you have a faulty SUS unit or Resolver issue.

@@omarf4 Omar, Negative. Dealer item only, and the dealership must have a certified tech (who was trained on EVC and Vodia) to use the tool. So you MUST contact a Volvo Penta dealer.

L29 is the mefi 2 . next is MEFI 4 labels the 4 on the sticker on the back. Mefi 3 had Delphi sticker as well. The newest built mefi 4 has AC delco stickers on them. And the 4 has MEFI 4 a and 4 b. Those will be going away as well like MEFI 1 thru 3 did many years ago. I have plenty in here for testing & repair

Not positive, around 1987 if my memory serves me right. I went to the first MerCruiser MEFI I 350 EFI Magnum course that year.

How can you diagnosis mefi 3 for no spark, distributor cap is not crab style, does not have external module only has the magnetic rotor trigger under cap
