Happy Memorial day everyone. Just want to update on what was said in the video. Out here in the Texas VA system stuff is actually moving and now I'm getting shots in my knees, it gives a good three days of relief but then again its better than none at all. I myself have been doing what I can to keep my disabilities in check one being this KZbin channel I'm commenting from, the content is moving slow but then again so do I but the content is coming and I hope people will enjoy it. Other than that love yall and if you know a veteran in your family or just in your life thank them, not for the service they did but the fact that they are alive and making the world just that much better with them in it.

The wear and tear is no joke. Only 24 and I had to get a big hip operation at the start of this year from Army Infantry life, probably some knee work down the line. Can relate a lot to different aspects of this guy's story. Can't remember the last time I went through a day without taking painkillers or thinking about suicid3 in some capacity. It's all quite tiresome. Thanks to whoever took the time to get this far. Check up on your loved ones. Blessings.

Sometimes we are way too sensitive to the pain that is actually there. Ya may feel it but ya could still walk 10 miles in one day if ya really wanted to. Limp on and keep limping. Slow turtle steps and someone stops their car asking if ya need help. And the couple miles you had left to reach your house suddenly becomes a tour of the town while the driver and his buddy talk their way around each other and where you need to be dropped off at. Couple streets away and the car stops by your command. Ya suddenly don't feel so much pain and get home.

I'm almost 40, and I eventually have to get my left foot cut off (VA denied me medical services for years) because of lack of treatment and buildup of nerve damage. Might have to get my left knee replace/cut off due to lack of medical treatment from the VA. I suffer chronic pain from migraines and a pinched nerve in my neck (blown up 3 times in Iraq). VA refuses to give any kind of pain meds now, and I finally saw a chronic pain doc who says my only treatment at this point, is medical marijuana... but the VA refuses to pay for it. I'm in NY by the way, and it is just as bad as CA, as this guy says. At this point, the VA is a greater and more dangerous enemy to me than any terrorist was.

It is so sad how bad military medicine is. They don't do anything for you while you are in to prevent health issues or keep things from getting worse. The way they have dealt with the Opiate crisis is sickening, Truly the people that need them are the ones that suffer from these "Regulations". There are people that need and DESERVE these pills like the Elderly and Veterans yet they cut them off leave them destitute and by no fault of their own addicted to the Medicine so they have to break the law to get them.

Its crazy right! I remember as a kid learning about heroin, mef, quack, weed even, yet NEVER in my elementary middle and high school years did they teach us about pharms. Not until after I had graduated and the epidemic became a real nightmare, but by then I was chewed up by opiates. Now it's all over the place. Look up the Sackler family, they paid doctors, patients and the media to prescribed this shit like candy, even told prescribing doctors that it was addictive. There are promotional videos by their pharmacy company with doctors AND patients saying how it's non addictive. High outta their minds this video was aired 99 and 01.

What is your solution to the addiction though? If you give everyone increasing amounts of opiates (because of tolerance) that only perpetuates addiction. And eventually the painkillers will cause sensitivity to pain. There are treatment centers for a reason. I think the solution lies somewhere in a mix of natural remedies that aren't addictive, excersise, and treatment centers if needed. Vivitrol if needed.
@koffinkat666

@@matthewanderson9239 There are some kinds of pain others have never felt, Once you experience pain on that level the only thing that works is Opiates. I think they should only be given to the people who are extreme examples of treatment resistant pain. Yes they are addictive because every person on earth when given an Opiate loves the effect, Sad but true. Now giving them too young folks should be shied away from only in extreme cases.

I took me forever to get my back recognized by the VA, even though I had all my other previous doctors and such while I was in the airforce give me records on how bad it had gotten. They also sent me to physical therapy twice. My L6 vertebrae pretty much has all the spongy stuff gone and rubs on the others. I also ended up with narcolepsy 2 years before my 6 year mark, but couldn't get it diagnosed while in, didn't know what was wrong. The doctors attributed it to an accident that a few of us were involved in. I worked with the f-117, and they did certain work to the aircraft where part of the radar absorbent material had to be sanded off. We were sent out one afternoon to get the trash picked up and they didn't corden off the area and when two of us went in the area to get the trash we inhaled some. The VA as well as the military doctors couldn't pinpoint what in the material would cause us to have problems, but that's because the information is still classified, so they can't attribute any of it for disability until they know what was in the material. I finally ended up with 20% disability, but only for my back and none of the other issues I have had. I keep pushing all the time to get it figured out and get what I deserve.

This is why you can get poisoned from it BUT its extremely rare. For reference, and some math my brain made me do, you are 1.5 times more likely to get hit by a car than get diagnosed with a titanium sensitivity. 0.000117% of the American population got hit by a car last year.

The advancements technology has made in the procedure are incredible, fighting is WORTH it! My mom put off knee replacement for 5 yrs, everyone who's had it done encouraged her to get it. She's now 3.5 wks post-op, 54 y/o, overweight, and already walking around normally without assistance & less pain than she did pre-surgery. Down to 3 advil every 6 hrs or so and icing it 3x per day! She is GETTING. HER. LIFE. BACK. Her bone on bone pain was making her miserable, worsening her depression, and rendering her incapable of doing normal things (like going to the grocery store). NOTE: First week post-op is a bitch for everyone, look into "Circulating Cold Water Ice Therapy Machine by Arctic Ice" it'll change that. With that thing, she used hardly any narcos, and she could sleep.

My mother worked as a CNA at a VA hospital in the late '70s/early '80s. It was just as bad if not worse back then. She and one of the ER nurses there got reprimanded once for treating an HIV+ vet who came in with a gangrenous arm from botched heroin injections since, apparently, the VA's position on HIV+ vets at that time was to just kick them back out because, y'know, early '80s. Also the hospital as a whole was in horrible condition and massively understaffed. She described it as being more like a prison, none of even the most basic amenities you'd expect in a hospital.

if this marine does get something in his knee to replace the cartilage I'd recommend knees-over-toes guy (on youtube and instagram). If any physical therapy is going to help it's that stuff. It's amazing.

Cigarettes are like antidepressants on tap, great stuff, but highly addictive. Never feel bad about getting hooked on that stuff, you literally develop dependencies, and can't fight depression without them.

Guys right, you need to want to quit. I wanted to quit over a decade ago, went 9 months, then went out on an impromptu "called at 2230" nights out. Met one of my ex's that night, I went and bought a 20 deck because of my nerves. Not given up since then, but now I want to and damn it's almost as hard as when you don't want to and people put pressure on you.

You're doing good work sharing these stories. We all need to acknowledge the horrors of the US war machine that we like to pretend doesn't exist. Never will I submit myself to these cruel masters.

why would you join the militairy knowing your country has shit health care? did you expect better service because you served? why would you do something like this without informing yourself on the topic? thank god for this video maybe it can prevent a few people of joining and dying for no reason coming back with ptsd or chronic pain

First time I ever smoked in my life l was at my first duty station. Went from ciggs to dip and now I just vape, it’s difficult trying to quit, the only thing that keeps you going is some kind of nicotine most days when your in the marine corps, just make shit bearable. Couple minutes in and I’m already relating to these guys. Lol marines are all the same at the end of the day.
