what is another option for a tang type algae eating fish that can go in a 40 gal?
@BulkReefSupply2 жыл бұрын
It's not a fish, but definitely consider urchins! Blue tuxedo and pincushion urchins are fantastic algae eaters for smaller systems where tangs can't be added. Their short spines allow them to get into all of the cracks 🙂

I have a 29 nano. It crashed 2 years ago. To make a long story short, my serving fish was a damsel. He had the tank to himself for a year, and now the whole thing is his territory. He attacks me when I do maintenance. I like the fish, but I know he will kill anything I put in it. I already re arranged the aqua scape . I don't want to get rid of him. Any ideas on how I can put another fish in it, or one that can stand it's ground.
@BulkReefSupply3 жыл бұрын
This is a tough one! Its probably not the best idea to introduce another fish if this damsel is truly that aggressive. Maybe introducing another damsel that is similar in size and putting it in an acclimation box to see how your original fish reacts would probably be your best chance at success. Otherwise, rehoming the damsel or setting up another tank would probably be your only options.

@@BulkReefSupply thanks for responding. I put a cleaner shrimp in it a month ago and the damsel dive bomb's him when he he sees him. The shrimp stays out of his site. And yes, when cleaning the Tay my husband laughs when he hears me scream "stop biting me." I like the idea of an accumulation box with another damsel. Damsels are pretty, but if anyone who is reading this, I would think hard about getting one. They are very territorial and when the get bigger, they are just little sh#@* s.

@@annebartells777 Try moving him to another tank temporarily while you stock your tank then return him later. Rearrange it a bit tho

we are currently having a problem with our annularis and emperor angelfish. The annularis is the aggressor. We've tried some of the things in the video. Such as feeding more, removing the fish from the aquarium. We havent tried splitting the tank in half yet though. The two fish are in a reef aquarium, so naturally they are almost impossible to get out. We've done it once, in about 10-15 minutes. We also tried it yesterday but the annularis wouldn't come out. Our tank i think is big enough for both of them, but they just won't stop. Its recently made a resurgence. Maybe because we added a scribbled angelfish. Nobody bothers him apart from our sailfin tang. If someone with a good knowledge ever replies to this, what could we do. My dad doesnt want to take the annularis out completely. it is his favourite fish. We will try splitting the tank in half with something. But any other options are always welcome :)

I found my Royal Gramma with a damaged fin one morning. There’s only two other clowns in the tank. I never witnessed aggression from the clowns toward the Gramma but maybe it happens at night? Anyone else recognize more aggressive behaviors from fish at night?
@fishfan23 жыл бұрын
💀💀Exact same shit happened to me dude. What's crazier is that the clowns act nice to the firefish and they are alot smaller than my gramma
@stevenglazier16913 жыл бұрын
I am on the verge of re-homing my clowns...they have been bullying my Royal Gramma nearly to death...he is recovering in a quarantine tank...and they killed a Fire Fish and 2 Bangaii Cardinals. Odd thing is that this behavior is new. They all got along until I added the Fire Fish then the Clown aggression came out and now they won’t leave the others alone.

All individuals of the same fish species act and react the same way to the same stimulus.. You can't just pass off such a blatantly incorrect statement as fact man.
