I was born and raised in Warrington, it’s strange how much everything has changed overtime and it does make me sad that a lot of the area has been gentrified. Many people I knew had to move because the rent just kept increasing and small businesses had to close. Im glad more people are visiting but I’ll always be nostalgic for the way it used to be

Warrington was sold down the river by the British Government. The rent went through the roof because the community had an influx of Eastern Europeans coming over to work on the industrial estates,once Brexit happened the appeal wasn’t so great and they started to leave. Hence, a shortage in cheap labour, the business section sensed this and went running to the government asking where they’re going to find cheap labour from and in turn the Hong Kongers we’re allowed to come in and they’ve just replaced them but they’re buying all the properties round Warrington and then renting them out to their own kind. Warrington is vastly over populated

Warrington is my home town, and I find it trully astonishing that people is China would be interested in little Warrington.

Hi~ Nice to meet you. Warrington is a lovely town. Many Hong Kong people like this town as it’s close to both Liverpool and Manchester, less crowded, lower crime rate and also many good schools.

i think Liverpool would be the best on paper 1. Property prices are cheaper in the north of England 2. supposedly the oldest Chinese community in Europe 3. the crime rate is lower than nearby Manchester, for example robbery is 2-3x lower than in Manchester (timeshighereducation stats) 4. Jobs as it's a big city. Lots of Chinese people are moving to Warrington, I heard, so looks like they chose my advice, almost. Very close to Liverpool.

Our future generations now cannot afford to live in our home town of Warrington . Why? Hong Kong nationals have bought properties up to 30% CASH over the asking price, and bought CASH to rent to other Hong Kong nationals, increasing the entire rental market up to and over 30% pushing out Warrington locals. We can no longer dream of owning our own homes in Warrington. Greedy sellers have accepted these offers above value, only to receive karma that they can't afford the next house that they are looking for. I am all for acceptance and belonging but this has become what I see as a takeover, unfairly on a small industrial town. Warrington will crumble.
