1:37 I remember that game and series as i watched it live. There was a free trial on the webpage (gsl) and was his first pro tournament, at least the first with media cover. He registered as Boxer, and everyone was wondering if he was the real slayersboxer. but when they realized that he wasnt, then started to call him foxer (fake boxer) and were disappointed, but then they saw this exact play, and everyone's jaw just dropped. It just escalated from there as kyrixzenith abused the lack of control terran had against bane's at that point of the game. No one had seen marine splits like that. We all got into religion that day, as we discovered a living god.

in the beginning of sc2 there were more one base plays and plays that really are micro intensive... now its most of the time fast expo etc, i really liked these kind of plays :)

This guy could lose every championship. But this guy brings more to starcraft 2 than any other player i know. He's the most entertaining, the best at micro, and the one with the best personality. That is why he'll be remembered forever.

Because when Jung-Hoon Lee started his career in GSL season 2 he took the ID BoxeR (after his idol SlayerS_BoxeR of sc1). The community immedately referred to him as Foxer (Fake Boxer) so there wouldn't be any confusion. Through his impressive micro & heavily marine based play in gsl season2 the community started calling him Marine King. He was going to change his name to Optimus so his full ID with the team "Prime" would be funny but took the fan name after he lost to NesTea in the finals 3-4.

Honestly the best thing about MKP is watching tournaments when he is playing and hearing the announcers say things like "He can't win this battle!" "It doesn't look good here for marine king!!" "He needs to be careful maybe pull back here" and then seconds later hearing "Oh my god!"

ST_ACE vs MKP is the sickest hold ever. And as Wolf has said so many times during the last 5 yrs. Marineking(prime)s been the sickest player to hold allins. I mean his last run in Kespakup vs parting for example-. who the fuck can hold an allin by Parting.

11 years on and my life now has completely changed. I'm very happy with where I am, but I still look back on this period and am so thankful I was able to experience this live and tuely enjoy SC2 at its peak. MKP aka Foxer completely revolutionised the game when he burst onto the scene and smashed through what we thought was possible.

SlayerS_BoxeR is a former Brood War player, SC legend, and an all-around baller. When Lee Jung Hoon debuted on the scene, he took the name BoxeR as an homage to his idol, SlayerS_BoxeR, but when SlayerS_BoxeR switched to SC2, "FoxeR" let the original BoxeR have the name, and changed his to MarineKing

I really like this video. Although I'm a protoss player I absolutely love MKP he is just insanely fun to watch, my favorite player for the last year or so (since I started watching MLG and GSL really...) good video and the music is fine just next time turn it down a bit so we can hear the announcers too... a lot of these scenes are all the more epic with the announcer's comments.

NaDa had the stronger army and had a supply depot left, so he could make a viking to target down MKP's buildings. MKP looks like the best he could do was a draw and try to keep hiding his army so that NaDa couldn't make that viking (kill his own army for supply for the viking). Until MKP took the risk and lowered his marine count just to make an SCV. Somehow he was able to hide is orbital and won the game with sheer attrition

oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude! I'm not good at making videos but I'll try to give some feedback :) Actually it's about the other video "the art of marine splitting" - there are some shaky, blurry, and flashing effects in there which make it a little difficult to follow the micro and watch the marines while your screen is all flashing and shaking. What I like is the music - really good choice especially in the other video - the marines shuffling at 4:02 - my favorite part :)

@mirrors I disagree, I was trying to change the "mood" of the video each time MKP changed his playstyle. I opened with amazing aggression TvZ with marine splits, so I thought drum/bass and dubstep would go nicely. Then we moved onto the quirky base trade scenarios with the quirky jazzy song I added. Then with the marine scv all ins I added an angsty sum41 song because I thought it fit better than electronica. And ofc for the end when mkp loses I put in a slower paced song.
