To fair maybe the reason why Mariner hasn't been talking to Jennifer after she return to Cerritos was because she already aware Jennifer have made it clear that their relationship is over and said to Mariner's face that she couldn't trust her anymore despite that she didn't give Mariner a chance to hear her side of the story of what really happen with the reporter. So the only person who should really be apologize is Jennifer (not Mariner) because it was her own decision to break up with her without having second though to heard Mariner out.

Nothing Jennifer did was any worse than what Mariner's own mother did to her, yet Mariner forgave her mother without knowing if she regretted anything. Freeman did everything Jennifer did, but much more extreme.

I love Lower Decks.... But I hate this. I was a Mariner x Jennifer shipper for the longest time, and was so happy to see it happen.... Only for them to break up and not talk for an entire season. And then we FINALLY get an episode focusing on them again, only for them to "officially" break up. Definitely my biggest disappointment in what is an amazing series.

Onestly It didn't annoy me that much. Maybe because I wasn't a Marine x Jennifer shipper. We only had one episode of the two actually interacting. I'm also a Mariner x T'lyn shipper. CAN I AT LEAST HAVE THIS KIRK X SPOCK VERSION GODDAMIT!!!

Instead she pretended they were still together and did it because "It wasn't over on MY terms" Jennifer was about Jennifer. She even says as much when she says "I only dated you because I thought you were the bad girl."

@@TheKrstff This baselessly implies that Captain Freeman specifically targeted their relationship, and also that Jennifer had no responsibility for a) assuming Mariner's guilt, b) blaming her for being bad when by her own admission that's the only reason why Jennifer wanted to be with her in the first place, and c) not making more of an effort to apologize. I really can't abide character-bashing, especially when its blatantly dishonest, and especially when it tries to prop up certain characters by bashing others.

The reason Mariner was "Disgusted" is because it surprised her and she is denying her feelings. How would you have reacted if the person you were in love with suddenly saw you naked without any warning? Her reaction was completely normal. Has it ever occurred to you that the reason the parasite didn't work for her is BECAUSE she's in love with Boimler? She was totally jealous of Boimler's girlfriend for almost the entire episode. As I say, there is more than just a hint that shows their mutual repressed feelings. We can only wait but the possibility exists.

She's seen Boimler naked *twice* and was disgusted but also suicidal. There is 0 evidence in the game you can't name a level and there's 0 in the show. She treats him like her little brother (which yeah she is 10-15 years older), she's compared him to a pet, when it was Boimler's turn to make a holodeck movie the love interest _ he created_ looked and acted nothing like Mariner. We saw psychic illusions of their *deepest* desires and neither of them imagined each other, Mariner imagined a half naked Jen and Leah Brahms enticing her to "look at the warp core" with them, she's more attracted to Leah Brahms than Boimler, which no one can blame her she is hot. Did it ever occur to _you_ that _maybe_ that Mariner is so unattracted to Boimler that the parasite didn't work on her and she was genuinely suspicious because she's lost friends to secret species that killed them? Or that the parasite only targeted Barbara seeing as no one on that ship was attracted to Boimler? Or that like she said she was jealous that Boimler was hanging someone cooler than her (which is textbook older sibling behavior)? Even wilder when the parasite and technically her stole Barbara, she's "in love" with Bradward but steals his ex? They're actually worse than Liz and Jack, at least they attempted a kiss and have a porno about them! 😂😂

Everything that happened to Mariner was 100% Freeman's fault. But the writers conveniently left that part out. This show really goes out of its way to overlook everything Freeman does wrong and absolve her of any guilt or responsibility.

So Captain Freeman is the one who basically sold out her own spawn and then turns the entire crew against her including her lover and not only does Freeman basically get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist yet again despite being a consistent awful mom who's daughter probably would have been far happier abandoning star Fleet but her issues are so f***** up that she's never going to. Her daughter has such severe War trauma that she fears intimacy and has a hard time me forming meaningful deep connections with people and then the writers have the balls to act like Mariner was in any way responsible for Jennifer being afraid and ashamed of what she had done to confront it. I like that they try to make it sound as though they're discussing Mutual flaws but remembering what actually happened doesn't match what they're saying here. Also when you're the one who broke up with Mariner and then gives mixed messages to illicit a reaction your entirely too blame. It does such a disservice to Mariners writing.

Jennifer is the victim here. She was manipulated by the captain she trusted into hurting someone she cared about. Mariner chose to forgive the captain who tricked the crew into turning on her, but held a grudge against the person tricked by the captain. Mariner does not come away from this episode looking good.

@TheKrstff Jennifer is the victimizer. When her girlfriend came to her and begged her to believe in her when no one else would, she turned on Mariner. Sure, her friends did it, but Jennifer was someone she trusted on an intimate level. She should have known better, known Mariner well enough to understand that she was not bullshiting about this. Following the captain's orders is one thing, but actually believing it was ber mistake. While Mariner should have broken it off officially, refusing to interact with her is a pretty clear message. Jennifer gaslighting her and kissing her when she knew they were broken up was disgusting behavior.
