The Marines are unrivaled in their marketing and documentation. Best videos of any branch of the US Military, hands down! They probably spend 20% of their total budget on advertising. But look at their numbers. The Marine Corps was the only branch of the military that met its recruiting standards last year. The other three branches missed their targets by a combined 40% between them. Marketing works, and the Marines excel at it.

What a cool deployment. I love that the grunts are finally getting an overhaul in their equipment. Suppressors at scale, rattle canning rifles to their environment, issuing the M27 to more individuals, helmet scrim, dual tubes... its awesome. Finally modernizing. Also, I LOVE the naming of the ACVs. The "Theo Von"! LOL. There was a video I watched where one of their trim vanes said "Make Peace or Die". That is badass. Way to embrace the warrior culture and motivate the ground pounders. That motivation is what's needed. Good on you whoever is coming up with these things. Semper Fi. Also, sick edits like this are what's going to increase recruitment. People join the Marines for the warrior culture.

No shit, I tried to reenlist during Operation Desert Shield, and with my DD214 in hand, I went to the local recruitment center. The Marine recruiter looked at it, smiled, and said I'm sorry but your too old Marine. I told him, Hell, my MOS is 3516, I still can spin wrenches but he thanked me for my patriotism, then shook my hand with a Semper Fi. I would of given my left nut for a chance to get back in.

Exciting and engaging, certainly - but not a job for me. I know, I've been there. Too little ethics and way too much economic interset. I mean, at the end of the day, the armed forces are tools in the govenment's toolbox for applying political decisions. You can approach the service with a near-shakespearan sense of warrior's ethics and adhering to a code of honour reflecting just how insanely _serous_ handywork warfighting is. The kind of consquences it entails. And then you get ordered on mission to enforce peace somewhere - like Jugoslavia in late 1990's, say - and the humanitarian mission contents is a figleaf command hold up to cover itself. The real reason is to prevent the economic interests of your government getting hurt due to the civil war. Then all that Shakespeare and stoicism just turns to ashes in your mouth, and you can't ever spit it out again. I love the equipment, though! The durability of it, how it retains it's functionality even when starting to break down; the ease of use and knowing how to use it. I can handle myself in the wilderness, even in vastly foreign terrain. That's something I owe the service and for which I am hugely grateful.
