Marines like Dakota Meyer and Kyle Carpenter, through their great courage, their total commitment to their fellow Marines and their modesty are an inspiration us today. Thankfully they show there are still young people today who will step up and put their lives on the line for their fellow Marines and their country. Deepest respect and admiration to you, may God bless your future path

The guy earned the Medal of Honor, that is a very cherished accomplishment in the USA. This particular man put his life on the line in order to help others live. So don't "cringe" when his football coach or anyone else is associated with the man. People want to know about these things. The young man has a background and he is not a murderer, but a good man, a good man who saved lives or attempted to.

We are so abudentley blessed with the greatest military on earth!! All our guys are so humble and gracious! I found out first hand this past Christmas of 19 when a young Sergeant from FortBragg brokedown enroute to his family on leave we all totally showed him the utmost respect while he was here he was shocked from all the help he got! Thank you Sargeant d.h. for all you do! We love and respect our awesome soldiers in Marion Nc 🇱🇷🇱🇷!!!

Here is the incredible part.....Meyer and Sgt Chavez requested to go into this killing zone...think about that... what would you have done...eh! Now after the first journey into this hell zone they probably realized that their chances of doing it again was ...nil...Yet, Meyer and the Sgt probably thought of their comrades that were taking fire were wondering when help would arrive... I think this was the mindset throughout the ordeal...that Meyer and Chavez were all the help those troops were going to get... so they did it time and time again...I cant imagine the terror these men endured....I think this is why this action will be communicated for years to come to new recruits in any service for America.....I hope all Americans can appreciate this kind of service that our service men and women do everyday and are never heard of....

I might be totally wrong, but I do have an idea about this one. Didn't you say Louisiana? That and the dude's last name give me an idea. I have family in what's called "Bayou Country," and at the time frame mentioned, the people there were devoutly and almost without exception, Roman Catholic. Among that demographic, about the worst sin, a person could commit was suicide. It would be for Mr. Robichaux a perfectly reasonable thing to do what he did. He would have been sparing his wife and family the terrible shame of his unforgivable "sinful" and "cowardly" act of selfish rejection of God's grace, damning himself to everlasting Hell-fire and them to the scorn and/or pity of their community. I know this sounds really extreme, but that's the way it was back then. Maybe it still is. But I left there a long time ago and I don't intend to ever, ever go back.
