The GED has not been accepted for the Marines as far back as I can remember. I enlisted in 1987, and even then you had to have a full high school diploma to enlist. No GED accepted.

It is real nice of them to let you keep them since they don't issue them unless you are on a special duty detail. The Dress Blues are one of the only uniforms you have to pay out of pocket for. However, I will say they are worth every penny and I will keep mine forever.

No matter the kind of duty(job) in the military it is a sacrifice. The sacrifice is not being home. Spouses or girlfriends boyfriends have to make do without them. Their sacrifice is just as important and difficult as the GI.
