1982 Camp Pendleton in the field rainy and cold training for my MOS 2512 communication (field wiremen). Received orders to report to my CO. I didn’t know what for I thought it was bad news. When I reported as ordered I was advised that I was the youngest Marine. Man what an honor it was, if I remember correctly I received a Sony Walkman a two hundred dollar check and a few other gifts, and was able to take a hot shower after being in the field for the past several days. ~Semper Fi~ and Happy Birthday Marines

I did my hitch from '67 to '71. I attended my first birthday parade and ceremony on the parade deck at Main Side, Camp Pendleton. Semper Fidelis.
