I own both a Vertx Ready Pack and the 5.11 Rush 24, both in black. The Vertx is a solid EDC bag but it’s a little big for my purposes. I do LOVE the light colored contrast of the Vertx interior, even in the black. If you don’t want the tactical look, it rocks. Myself, I don’t really care about that. The 5.11 is a great bag but it’s also too big for my EDC purposes, however, I’ve converted it to my Get Home/Car Bag and it’s the perfect size and very comfortable. I recently went to the 5.11 Moab 6 as my EDC Bag. Great size, with me constantly and attaches to the Rush 24 if I ever need to use that bag for its purpose. My opinion, you can’t go wrong with either, both brands and bags are top quality and are built strong and tough.

I'm a bit of a bag whore. I got introduced to Vertx bags from watching Talon Sei videos. Now I own three of them. The RP 2.0 is my EDC pack. I wanted a pack with integrated water bottle holders, a dedicated admin pouch, enough space for whatever I am carrying that day, high-vis interior and quick access to my CCW if I have to carry off-body. Additionally, I have a IIIA+ soft armor plate inside. The RP 2.0 doesn't draw unwanted attention either. Absolutely love it.

I’ve got the rush,ready 2.0 and the amp 24. All are great bags but used in different applications. Overall winner to me though is still the AMP. Working in ems it’s so versatile. I just hate how 5.11 discontinued that bag. They shoulda made a 2.0 version of it
@mchinnii313 жыл бұрын
I've had the Rush 12 (and 24 & 72) for 5 years now and love it. I'm not too sure about the 2.0 version. I don't like that it doesn't have drain holes at the bottom. And it looks like they removed the inner drawstring pouch that I use all the time. That Vertx is looking good tho! I'm gonna have to give it a shot.

I've had rush 24 for 5 years too - and have been looking into getting the 2.0 version, but then I learned about the drawstring pouch issue and now I'm looking for another brand instead. I love the old rush 24 - and why change something that already works? If they have to change anything they could put on sidepockets in the sizes as on the rush 72.

Hey Marine hope you don't break a finger nail accessing the hidden gun pocket while you're sitting at Starbucks. I actually use my 5.11 bags in the woods hunting and my Moab 10 has held up for 20 years doing rough duty, so much for the cheaper material same as the Rush series. I've been looking for another bag and ive been trying to decide if I want to switch to Vertx but after your review I'm convinced I want to stay with 5.11 , hope you find what works for you.

I’m very interested in this bag and happy to hear it stands on its own. That’s a pet peeve of mine when bags flop over when you set them on the ground. If you have stuff attached to the molle webbing on the upper part does it pull the bag forward noticeably?

I'm liking your content, definitely more for realistic uses and stuff. I've been carrying this stuff for my whole life but never thought of it as edc or what not so I like the not LARPing attitude I get from a lot of these bugout bag videos/channels. The stuff I'm looking for atm is to try to not buy Chinese made products which is damn near impossible to find atm, so making my new pack and stuff is slow going but will be worth it I think

I just ordered the Vertx Ready Pack 2.0. I’ve ran the 5.12 Rush 12 as my EDC bag for over 5 years, and loved it but... I wasn’t super big on all the exposed molle, it doesn’t have exterior water bottle pockets which sucks, and I didn’t have the 2.0 so it had no laptop sleeve or CCW pouch. I’m pretty stoked to be replacing it with the Vertx. I think it’ll just be a better EDC bag

Asking which one sucks less is like asking, do you want to run the Obstacle Course or the Confidence Course 10 times in succession. Lol. If there was a way to integrate the good features from both bags into one would be closer to a great bag. I've found that in my tiny corner of the world, middle schoolers/junior high schoolers upwards to grownup civilians now use backpacks that have MOLLE and are in the camo colorways, so nobody really pays attention that much now. Thanks for sharing, you Mighty Awesome Devil Dog. BATTALION, ERRAH!!!

Bulletproof laptop sleeve? Does it actually protect the laptop or is it more intended to make the computer double as a piece of armor? I doubt seriously the laptop is going to survive the shot, may not penetrate but the shock displacement is gonna wreck that thing.
