For those of you who want to know, Luigi's Latin is just insulting Mario. "Stultus frater meus est" means "My brother is stupid." Crassus means fat, so "Crassus meus frater est" means "My brother is fat." Couldn't quite translate the desi (deci?) pietur, my Latin is a bit rusty, so help is always appreciated for the last bit!

My favorite theory I've heard was that the Boos are the many lives Mario lost during the game. That's why they freeze up when you look at them, they can't bare to face the fact that they're dead. It's also why they hunt you down for they are jealous of the latest iteration and want them dead rather than let them continue on living the life they'll never have.
