It's great that this entry in the series finally brings in new and unlockable characters but the disappointing part about it is that aside from Mario, Sonic, and your Mii, you can't play as ALL the characters in ALL the events which is odd since previous entries in the series let you play as all of the characters in any event (except for London 2012 on 3DS) so it seems like a step backwards from previous entries and to add insult to injury, some of the characters (including all the unlockable ones) can ONLY BE PLAYED IN ONE EVENT!!!! WTF?!?!?!? Isn't the point of playing as one of many playable characters is to actually experience the whole game with them? If so, then this game won't allow that. If they actually let you play as all characters in any event, then this would of been my favorite entry in the series, but thanks to limiting my character choices for certain events, Winter Olympics still remains my favorite. Sorry for typing this long rant, it's just that this design choice really bothers me...

It makes sense why new characters would be event specific but the main 20 should’ve been in every event. At least they (besides Mario and Sonic) are in at least 2 events instead of just one.

Judging by the stats it looks like these are the types for each character 1. Diddy Kong- Speed Type 2. Cream- Skill Type 3. Rosalina- Power Type 4. Rouge- Skill Type 5. Nabbit- Speed Type 6. Jet- Speed Type 7. Birdo- All-Around Type 8. Omega- Power Type 9. Dry Bones- Skill Type 10. Espio- All-Around 11. Ludwig- Skill Type 12. Zavok- Power Type 13. Wendy- All Around Type 14. Sticks- All- Around Type 15. Larry- All-Around Type 16. Wave- Speed Type 17. Roy- Power Type 18. Zazz- Power Type 19. Dry Bowser- Power Type 20. Eggman Nega- Skill Type Man, i'm looking forward to getting the Wii U/3DS game

+MarioKartGamerDude The stats might changed for the Wii U version depending which divided categories they use. The handheld stats are usually: Speed, Power, Technique, Stamina. (Jumping is usually included too) The consoles' stats are generally Speed, Acceleration, Power, and Skill. (But Stamina and Technique may show up as well)

I'm glad that they have my main men; Zavok, Espio and Jet. They are my true mains in this game in both versions. Now all that's left to do is include Omega and Dry Bowser in the Wii U version with my mains, and this atom bomb of darkness and awesomeness will be complete.

if you didnt notice already , this is the japanese version of all the names. most are the same but people like bowser , birdo and wario are different. wario was made to sound like the japanese warui , which means evil/bad person
