This is how every place should operate that sells food. Think of the families you'll save from obesity and how their money will be spent wisely. Such an awesome environment to teach the younger generation of how food is made.

As an Italian, I was petrified at the idea that Eataly might end up being another pretentious, overpriced, snobbish eatery/mall with no soul, but after watching a lot of videos from Eataly NYC and Eataly Chicago, I'd say they did a pretty good job applying and popularising Italian cuisine's attention to in-season produces and regional variations. Everything looks very authentic, by the way, including the cartels and tags in Italian -- no tourist-deceiving Itanglish detected. Still quite expensive, though.

diioriog this particular location is in a very high end part of New York, everything in NY is overpriced. His place IS expensive but if you want a very good place to eat, that's worthwhile, it's Eataly. Nothing worse than paying a lot of money for crappy food.

Never understood how anyone could spend more than $3 for dried pasta or more than $15 for olive oil (which for the most part comes from Greece or Spain where the oil is a thousand times better).
