I don't get everyone's beef with the non Mario characters in this game. I didn't have a problem with them really. Made it feel kinda unique compared to the other Mario games. I will admit having Mario as an unlockable was pretty ludicrous though.

I don't get why they're called "Non Mario characters" - They're characters in a Mario game, they're Mario characters. I think I'd rather instead call them the "Beta-Waluigis" But given this was the age where Mario DIDN'T have a robust roster of characters to choose from, it makes sense for Camelot to have a few creative liberties - All we had at the time was Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi,, Wario, DK, Bowser, and because Toad was forced to be a referee, Baby Mario. Needless to say, these guys chance at appearing in another game were nixed when Mario Tennis was being developed - Camelot was in need of a bigger roster for the game, and Nintendo provided: Reviving Daisy (Who I assume took the role of Plum because Mario Tennis Daisy acted *exactly* like Plum), Birdo, and Donkey Kong Jr, with Koopa Troopa, Toad, and Boo being playable. But Camelot couldn't control their "Original Character" desires, so they created Waluigi...

I find them more enjoyable now that I'm older. Especially "IT'S A SUNNY DAY!" Also I hated unlocking Mario when I was younger, but I actually like it now. He's actually one of the better characters in the game because of this.

Camelot came fresh from Hot Shots Golf, a game about that concept. Camelot used the game as a prototype for their game, Nintendo was so impressed they bought them. But some wanted to stay in this series so the team split. Hot Shots Golf continued by Camelot Employees forming Clap Hanz while Camelot employees that stayed moved to Nintendo. So they still wanted some original Flare for Golf and Tennis on N64 GBC and GBC

MarioLuigi25 Yeah, I think they over did it in games like Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, and Super Mario Galaxy, where they literally made him a joke character and extremely childlike. They managed to fix it in Luigi's Mansion Dark moon though, where despite being a coward, he still proves to be really brave and full of personality. Definite props to Nintendo for giving Luigi personality, but I do enjoy seeing him as the "sensible and more grown up" of the bros. Since that's what he's supposed to be essentially.

Mario Mastar Yeah, I agree. I understand that Nintendo did it to give him a personality and prevent him from being a green Mario clone, but I honestly like this version of him better. Cool, mature, and laid-back. They really overdo his cowardice sometimes to the point where they make him afraid of just about everything (and don't even get me started on Brawl) and make him extremely childish. And it really bothers me being a huge Luigi fan. It's OK to have him show fear on occasion, but don't make the guy a total scaredy cat.

MarioLuigi25 Yeah, Hopefully they go back to making Luigi like he was in Melee or 64. That's what I liked about unlocking Luigi then. He always seemed like the "Mario's secret weapon" type in those games. Literally the "Mario's Shadow that you regret messing with", but subtly enough that it made him awesome. Granted to Brawls credit (and only credit...way to nerf Luigi's aerial hit boxes...), Luigi is one of the 6 heroes who saves SSE if you fail to pick up any of the character trophies in Tabuu's realm.

I love Luigi's voice here it sounds so manly and deep even in Mario Kart 64 and Mario Tennis 64. Why can't his voice stay like this forever? I like his regular voice too it's cute but I don't like his voice in Mario Kart 64 (Japanese Version), or Mario Party 1 or 2 because he sounds like a girl. (This is my own opinion)
