Mario Kart 8 Choco Mountain's Possible Reference to Famous MK64 Shortcut

This may not be a real easter egg, but it might be a reference to the famous Mario Kart 64 Weathertenko shortcut. Found in Mario Kart 8 version of Choco Mountain which was in the new Booster Course Pass DLC.

The weathertenko was discovered well before Tour's release. Sure nobody hit the 3/3 until after that game releases, but it could've been a reference there too

Doubt it, the ladder’s on the wrong side, and it’s kinda weird for a AAA game to reference a bug that’s only really well-known to a certain niche, unlike, say, World -1, and it would be a weirdly abstract way to make the reference.
