Actually, that's not true. The blue shell can absolutely SHOOT down the track faster than a Mach 5 missile and even the fastest drivers. It DID catch up to him, although he put up a good fight. It's just 100 percent impossible to completely outrun the blue shell; it just ROARS down the track like a bullet train.
