To be fair, Metal Mario does have an established lore in the Mario games since 64. Plus, the games before MK7 did build Metal Mario up as its own character, which would make sense for him to be a character worthy for a slot. If it was characters like Pink Gold Peach or even Baby Rosalina, then it wouldn't make sense for them to take a slot up as they're just reskins of existing characters.

Mario Kart Super Circuit - None Mario Kart 64 - None Mario Kart Double Dash - Petey Piranha and Birdo ✅ Mario Kart DS - Rob ❌ Mario Kart Wii - Funky Kong ❌ Mario Kart 7 - Wiggler ✅ Mario Kart Tour - Kamek ✅ The only new characters from the mainline Mario Kart games that haven't been added yet are Funky Kong and Rob, and there's two slots left... Edit: Just so y'all know; this list is supposed to show the games already represented by characters, the only games left to get representation are Wii and DS. The inclusion of Petey Piranha and Kamek in the Booster Course Pass was anticipated by many. However, the return of Wiggler was quite a curveball, shattering a majority of the character predictions for the pass-quite a surprise indeed! I'm intrigued to see which characters will round out the remaining two spots in the current column. Ideally, once it's filled, I'm optimistic we'll be treated to another fresh lineup of characters in a new column. Here's to hoping!

My picks for characters in the last two slots are not popular. But here goes nothing. Who I really want is Monty Mole, and Goomba. It feels so unfair to me that Koopa Troopa, the SECOND enemy Mario faced in the original Super Mario Bros; was chosen for the very first Mario Kart game and Goomba, the first enemy, has to settle with being not even being in Tour. I know people will be saying, "BuT dR. tExAs, GoOmBa CaNt DrIvE a KaRt BeCaUsE hE hAs No ArMs." Then lets take a trip down memory lane all the way back to 2008. A game called Mario Super Sluggers just came out for the WIi. You take a look at the character selection and what do you see? Not just Goomba, but Paragoomba too. In that game, Goomba didn't even need arms to swing his baseball bat and hit home runs. Actually in the story mode, Goomba owned his own shop in Wario City. So there is proof. If Goomba can hit a baseball and own a shop with no arms, then he is more than capable of driving a kart when characters like ROB in Mario Kart DS didn't even touch the steering wheel to turn.

Its the same reason why Birdo deserved to return. Kamek was cut from Mario Kart 64 and we've had to wait over 25 years for him to finally make it to a console Mario Kart. And Petey and Wiggler are super unique. Not sure how they aren't amongst the best choices...

Giant fork ramp with multiple end paths that lead to a giant jello bounce pad like mushroom gorge. A giant spinning pizza cutter slanted to act as the new MK8 rainbow roads spinning fast pad on the space station but this one all goes one way.

I’ve always thought wiggler was underrated as a character, grew up playing 7 so I’m glad he’s here, loved double dash so petey is also awesome to see, and I’m so excited that kamek is finally in a console game, not to mention this bathroom track looks super interesting, overall: very excited for wave 5! I hope my boy funky is in the next wave, and diddy is who I’m putting my money on to be in the next wave as well

@@JesseHOH Considering that was Wiggler’s only playable appearance prior and well Wiggler’s body shape I had come to believe that Nintendo couldn’t make Wiggler work with Bikes and ATVs and oddly enough Wiggler is not shown in trailer on any bikes or ATVs (Not even the Wild Wiggler which I hope will be one of CPU Wiggler’s vehicle parts) so I guess we will have to wait and see how he looks on a bike and ATV)

Can't believe Kamek is actually in Mario Kart 8 deluxe after going through a long rollercoaster of not being added to the roster when he was originally intended to at times, with first being Mario Kart 64 which was originally titled Mario Kart R at the time, Kamek was intended to appear but got replaced by Donkey Kong, and during Mario Kart 8's development on the Wii u, it seemed like he was going to appear judging from his unused emblem left in the games' files but never happened. But now, Kamek is back baby!

I think that’s sort of the point. Nintendo realizes that we fans lost out of a Switch Mario Kart game when they ported MK 8 from the Wii U. So they are throwing the fans a bone by giving us the Booster Course Pass with 48 courses - essentially a new game’s worth of courses.

I swear the waves are just getting better and better. I absolutely love how this new Bathroom track looks so far, it looks just as good if not better than Ribbon Road. I’m so happy Petey, Kamek, and Wiggler got in the game (especially Kamek dude finally got in after being rejected so many times). I love how the new 2D Mario game looks so far but this was my favorite announcement in the direct I’m so grateful that the Booster course pass even happened in the first place, thank you Nintendo. Also nobody is talking about this but I love the music in this track, it feels so classy and epic Sorry if that was a lot but I just wanted to express my excitement, this is probably my most hyped up Wave yet

Yeah, but the graphics are far worse than Ribbon Road. The low polygons, the lack of details and textures, the shades of colors, the lighting... Everything in Ribbon Road feels more accomplished and pretty. But this bathroom track seems to have an awesome and creative layout, because unlike Ribbon Road, this is a brand new course, allowing the developers to make more interactions between the track and the scenery.

Nintendo just missed an opportunity to make the DLC tracks even greater than they actually are ; it doesn't mean I can't have fun at playing these courses, most of them are really enjoyable ! I perfectly know these DLC tracks are developed both for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Kart Tour, in order to simplify the development process. So, they don't use the full potential of the Nintendo Switch game. But I agree that the waves are getting better and better. I don't reduce a game to its graphics.

@@FirstToad Sure ! It adds a lot of depth to the track since the path isn't limited to a ribbon. We can drive on the floor, above the toilet, in the bathtub, inside the drain and more.
