I just want to add a small personal story regarding this runner and something I witnessed prior to the run while I was in Minneapolis watching it After the previous run ended (I think it was the somewhat disastrous Mario 3 race), I got up to get some water and bumped into Trihex. I was kind of starstruck because he's such a well known runner but I managed to get a picture with him, really nice guy. He saw Aeonfrodo entering the area right after this, visibly nervous, and immediately went up to her and reassured her that she was going to do great. He cracked a few jokes and I think it really helped her. I dunno what any of this really has to do with anything, I guess I was just impressed at how supportive these runners can be with each other.

Ollie Zoop Also I loved how poo waited for mitch after the accidental reset. Every runner was just so supportive of each other and all showed great sportsmanship. This is why I love gdq
@ExFragMaster6 жыл бұрын
Poo once said, Speedrunning can be a super exhausting act and doing the same thing over and over again, with the goal to do it the same way every damn time, can make you sick. The thing that keeps the runners running is in most cases the fans watching and the support they get from others. (Its not allways the game that keeps you training, it is the social aspect you have nowadays)

Any other drivers with track experience actually impressed by the lines she's taking? I've noticed that when she's not going for short cuts or some wonky thing that doesn't happen in real racing, she seems to understand actual line theory. Didn't expect to see that here lmao, I have a feeling she'd be a quick driver in a miata or something

This run makes me wonder why more racing games aren't included during GDQ. Maybe not enough people would be interested in both running the game as well as watching? I know people take the leader boards in racing games seriously, but the entire game would be different. I think it would be mega satisfying seeing a Forza game, for example, getting run because all the racing lines would be so clean.
@Jfrost91016 жыл бұрын
The main reason is probably that, in Forza, there's just SO MANY RACES to do, and many of them can climb upwards of six or seven minutes. Even in games like Horizon, which has pretty tame race times of about 4 minutes, there's just so many that you're required to do that it'd be a reeeeeeally long run with not a lot to talk about, since the lines are the only truly interesting part of it.
@thefuzzypickle82775 жыл бұрын
They're trying to complete the game by speed running it and certain racing games take a long time to complete

In Mario Kart: Super Circuit it's actually possible to almost outrun the shell on one of the Bowser's Castle tracks. I remember when I was a kid managing to do that and actually breaking the drift bumper on my GBA SP, or so I thought...here I was pushing the buttons so hard the graphite pads for the bumper buttons were flattening (my theory) but reshaped with time to work again.

Baby Park? More like Chaos Park and I love it for it. Seriously, my older brother and I lump it into one of those tracks that it doesn't matter what happens as you'll likely find yourself laughing at the chaos. There's only one other track that us both put into that category of tracks and that is Circus Minimus from NASCAR Rumble. Tiny as heck and becomes pure chaos when you max out the number of item boxes on the track.
