Maybe I’m just a space nerd but I love the aesthetics of this Rainbow Road so much, also I love the detail of how a majority of the track uses anti gravity for most of it but turns that off once you enter the centrifuge (the spinny part of the space station, it spins to generate artificial gravity)

I honestly have grown to appreciate this Rainbow Road. At first it didn't really appeal me because of it looking way to "man-made" but after a while I started liking it. I like to think that previous Rainbow Roads were created by Mario or Rosalina and this one was made by Toads that wanted to replicate the beauty of the other RRs but ended up making a pastel colored space station instead.

Yeah, that makes the most sense to me. My only other experience with Mario Kart is MKWii, so I can only speak for that game, but I'm assuming this applies to the other games as well. Your analysis makes sense. Because, when comparing MKWii's Rainbow Road and MK8's Rainbow Road together, MKWii's is a lot more cosmic and beautiful. The Rainbow Road actually blends like a rainbow, wheras MK8's is more like a colored grid. And the jumps and the edges are a lot more twisty and dangerous too, wheras this one is more technology than anything else. Not to say that MK8's is bad, because no, it's actually quite detailed. This track might've been disappointing, but I don't hate it. If you renamed the track "Orbital Speedway", changed the track to look like metal or solar panels, and gave it an epic space theme, and you've got a good track. How I would design Rainbow Road 8, it would start in a space shuttle, similarly to Mount Wario starting in the helicopter, and the track would be similar to Rainbow Road 7, where you race through space, and it would end in Rosalina's Observatory. How awesome would that be?

The track layout is so cool with the Toad's Factory-like segment and the part with two Roads overlapping each other reminds me of Wii Rainbow Road! Good grief is this track annoying! I just hate how easy it is to slip off the edges. I’m mostly a good player at this game, but this track is one that I was lucky to come into second on today. It would’ve been nice to come into first. This track is beyond slippery and easy to get derailed if you’re going Super fast. I tried to do that drift with the ZR button if I felt the turn was super sharp. Total backfire and total bust.

I know I will be 3-4 years late when this pandemic is over and I can finally get a Red and Blue Neon Joycon Controller Nintendo Switch, and get things like MK8 Deluxe, NSMBU Deluxe, SSB Ultimate, and play on Rainbow Road, not gonna lie though, I have grown up all my life with the Wii, still have mine, in fact, and MKWii Rainbow Road is the only one I have seen so far that is fully fun, great music, and is actually a damn rainbow, but okay, MK8 is good too!

I love the design they went for in this rainbow road. it's a shame how it wasn't amazingly fun to drive on compared to the previous iterations, it's also quite short.
