it's a great game indeed but tbh it starts to show it's age. This version has more lucky moments than strategy, concepts introduced in MKWii and MK8 like the tailgating boost and ramp tricks actually make it more skill based. also this version only has 4 cups.... only 4.... even mariokart 64 had more tracks!

It’s funny how he first mentioned Mushroom Bridge, since a new glitch/shortcut (2018) was recently found there by the current world champion player (Goomba; he has an active YT channel), which amazingly came after about 13 YEARS of no shortcuts found. It’s called “The Soduku Method”-the move is pretty much done by riding off the bridge so that you fall so close to the other side of the map, that the game counts it as crossing the checkpoint at that area; then, as soon as Lakitu drops you off at the bridge, you simply rush to the finish line and the game will count it for you as a lap; then, rinse and repeat. There’s a couple other steps & rules involved, but yeah; it’s awesome :D

There are similar mechanics in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the double item boxes, but other than that I somewhat doubt this one will ever come back. From what I know less people enjoyed this game than many of the other Mario Karts, which I can understand despite loving this game.

6:03 This happened to me once when I was in college, but I was hit by a blue shell instead of a green one. Got me from 1st to 7th place. Also, the last glitch on Bowser's Castle happened to me once, but instead of being on 2nd lap, I was actually about to finish the track, and the game placed me over there even though I finished the track. Good times !

You do realize this is in multiple mario kart games, (meaning that it's most likely a mechanic) right? It's not just in double dash, in my experience it is in MK Wii, MK DS, MK7, and MK8. While i'm not entirely sure if it's supposed to happen with lightning as this works with any other item, such as being hit by a red shell and being able to shrug off a blue one momentarily, or not being able to be hit by 3 shells at once, I do know that you have some "invincibility time", meaning that you can't get hit consecutively, by, say two banana peels in a straight line, as you'll just plow right through them.

The thunderbolt glitch works right after getting hit by any item, not just Fake Item Boxes. Been saved a lot of trouble from that glitch in random occasions.

I actually kind of discovered my own glitch in the game. When on any menu screen with options in all 4 directions, for some reason if you rotate the control stick clockwise for a little while, then start rotating it the opposite direction really quickly after, the game thinks the control stick is still moving clockwise. I have no idea why, but it’s kind of interesting.

I preferred MK64 before MK8 came out. Was more skill focused to me when playing against friends. Items felt less intrusive/debilitating. DD was my least favorite because it felt slippery while DS was second least favorite since it had snaking... everyone just played as Drybones with his little tank cart so they could just get larger mini-turbo boosts. It killed an otherwise great game for me.

I know I have a slight preference for DD but it and DS are both fantastic mario kart games at the end of the day. Go back to both of them every now and then and there still just as fun as when I first played them.

I loved this video, and since it’s a racing game I found some minor and major *angry birds go* glitches (for air) Camera glitch: in the blues part of the game go to the air race. Then once you get to the finish line go right to the right side of the wall without touching it. Then the camera zooms in on the racer. Boss glitch: go to Forman pig’s boss battle and at the beginning of the race, either go behind him and either boost into him or make him touch a wall, or go left and ram his cart on the left side of him and push him into the wall. With enough practice and timing Forman pig will be stuck at the beginning of the course and he won’t move, it’s worth it though. Height glitch: go to Forman pig’s race, then before the finish line are these to half slopes. What you need to do is either turn left or right depending on which slope you get to and for more air time use a bird with a boost ability and you’ll shot off into the air. Out of bounds glitch:go to Forman pig’s boss battle and a bit after half the race is done, there’s 3 different ways or 4 different ways to go (left, right, middle, and underneath the middle). All other ways except left is blocked off, but To get underneath the middle turn left and right which makes your cart go down, with enough timing the if you get to that tunnel underneath the middle, their there is no invisible wall guarding it and the ground, walls, and roof is all solid, but hopefully you don’t go in it and it’ll bounce you up and you’ll respawn to where you were supposed to go. But it also doubles as a height glitch if you hit the ramp that people think was supposed to close the large tunnel, collision detection is still there so if you hit it you’ll gain a lot of air time, or you will just respawn to where you were supposed to go. Height glitch method 1: when you make it to an air section (when you start to fly) keep going left and right and then you’ll shot off into the stage. Height glitch method 2: if you hit the edge of a wall of fence either you’ll go up or respawn. If you made it to the end of my comment if you could please do a video on angry birds go glitches. Don’t forget, that’s just some of the air tracks so their could be more glitches in other air races and in speedway, sub zero, rocky road, and in stunt. #Astart

Spiny Shell Glitch: In MK8, online on Yoshi Valley, a player threw the Blue Shell, but it got confused and ended up with the Blue Shell scrambling around the course trying to find me. And it didn't.
