I've said a million times before, and I'll say it a million times again. Mario Kart Wii is my favorite Mario Kart game. The nostalgia alone is able to shove this game right up to my number one pick for the title of "best Kart racer" I remember being a kid and trying to do rainbow road backwards, and doing everything I could think of to get over that fence by the launch star. I also remember just driving around on moon view highway and pretending to be a normal car.

If anybody remembers competitions in MKWii, there was a mission where you had to drive through mushroom gorge backwards. I remember spending hours on it trying to get a good time as I loved how cool it was to see a familiar course from a different angle.

To be fair, I wouldn’t call MKWii glitchy. It works perfectly fine, the exploits and imperfections only appear when you’re really looking for them, which is something that I’d say makes the game more endearing. It makes it feel like it has hidden secrets for people to discover, which gives it lasting value.

- - Not a chance. He’d respawned multiple times, meaning he’d lose his mushrooms even if he did make the first jump. If this was MK 8, there is a small chance it could work, but that’s because Lakitu is really smart in this game.

Grumble Volcano is possible done backwards, and is not that complicated! All you need to do is the stationary power-slide boost but in a kart, because a kart gives you more boost that a bike, therefore making you go further from the ledge. What this provides is a higher chance to actually spawn on the moving object, where then you can repeat the same glitch to get to the cave, and successfully do the course backwards! Also, for those who do not know how to do the stationary power-slide glitch, all you need to do is hold down the brake and accelerate button at the same time, creating burnout, and then hop by using the b button. Carry on until blue and/or orange sparks appear, and then let go of the brake button, which will boost you. Hopefully this was useful to all of those who didn't know how to do the stationary power-slide glitch. P.S. I know there's not supposed to be a hyphen in power-slide, but if i don't, it'll underline it in red and I don't actually know how to make the bridge appear with a Chromebook. If anyone has a Chromebook and/or a relative who has a Chromebook, if they know how to make the bridge appear, please tell me in the reply section. Nathaniel on Ctgp I notice. 4:22 This is a perfect example of the earlier MK games being glitchy. That’s what some people call an “Ultra Shortcut” going out of bounds in very subtle ways. A few courses have these and are abused for World Record clears. It’s good to know that ultra shortcuts can be viable for going backwards. This game was my third Mario Kart gane and this game is a ton of fun.

Technically you don't ever need TAS to do anything. If it's possible in TAS, it's possible in game. TAS is mostly used to prove certain feats are possible because all TAS does is allow you to slow/pause time, input frame-by-frame etc

The reason he could make the jump is because when you barely hit an obstacle whilst doing a wheelie and using a shroom, the knockback of the obstacle makes it possible to reach very high places. You should check out A+Start’s video about MKWii glitches, he performs this trick in a few other tracks.
