@@SpookyDollhouse It's really hard to translate 2D art styles to 3D, takes a lot of trickery with texturing and model topology. The M&L art style is very loose and cartoony, even compared to regular Mario, so it's actually quite impressive that they managed to pull it off so well. It's not just the aesthetic itself, it's also how the characters are animated. In 3D, you can't just draw a character's shape changing when they do cartoony stuff, you need special skeletons with stretchy bones for animations, model part swaps for whenever a part of a character changes drastically, and perspective tricks. Good cel shading also requires normal editing, and the m&L art style uses gradients, so yeah, plenty of ways it could've gone wrong.

yeah that's typically the case with these games. Luigi generally learns really strong AoE attacks and has a tanky stat spread, while Mario is more of a glass cannon crit machine who can attack single targets very hard.
