It feels so weird when you've watched Mario Maker from the start, and the transition into 2 and how both games evolved over time. It didn't really feel like there was such a drastic difference, but seeing everything in the first game now is so jarring. It's unlocking memories I didn't even know I had!

Mario Maker 1 is so nostalgic for me. I remember coming home from school and going on my Wii U to make and play levels. It was the game that got me into Super Mario games and I’ll forever have good memories of it. I’m gonna say, while Mario Maker 2 has more features and stuff, there were aspects of the first game that were better, such as overlapping objects, event courses, the weird mushroom, and more. Also making levels in TV mode just feels weird, and I understand why, but I prefer the first game’s drop down menu with all the items.
