You lost me at mechanics. Honestly, the car movement mechanic could be neat as a side mode, but having it replace the core star-hunting board game play that made the first 8 (+ DS) so great just feels so off-putting. I do agree though that it has some really good minigames and boss battles (I wish Peak Precision had been in MPSS, I mean it was in Top 100 so...)

MP9 is one of my favourites as i only have really played MP8, MP9 and MPDS, but while it was one of my favourites it was also responsible for the only Wii game i have broken stuff due to rage (I was trying to beat Solo Mode got to bowser's station and what felt like something simple turned into 6 attempts beating it because shy guy keeps screwing me over somehow)

Fun fact: thwomps, chain chomps and grolls cannot die to anything except the super star or being suffocated and/or crushed. Bowser can get killed by 3 things: fire flower, super star, destroying bridge. Therefore, bowser is a weakling just like every single one of his other minion besides the minions that can only get killed by super star and suffocation.

That plan bowser has with the mini stars reminds me of a whole chain quest called grand Galactica that where there's a plan that Goalius had a special device on his back called the galactic legion a special device that allows him to get sparks Luma's and rabbits merged with the essence of mini stars and he revealed his true allegiance with cursa a unknown extraterrestrial threat across the universe and also offscrean goalius been kidnapping bowsers minions and brainwashed them to serve cursa and bowser was furious and he took on goalius who was able to smash the comet observatory and injured rosilina enough that Goalius fused her and a rabbit to rabbit Rosalina but there was a major problem the device blows up and made a rabbit ghost anyway bowser did broke goalius biohelm Into pieces

The Whomp and Bomb-Omb Boss Battles are really fun with 4 players, especially humans (any amount 2-4 players works well with humans. fun stuff). (yeah the Bomb-omb one needs the random toss out a bomb with 2 players, otherwise with 2 players you can pick the highest bomb and never lose, only tie. for that reason it likely takes away the big one a lot) You know what I forgot how consistently good the Boss Battles are. The Dry Bones one for example, great game with short bursts of memory. And you can play perfectly if you try, because when a row is shuffled you can see whether it's reversed or if two pairs swap positions.
