I love how Mario, Peach, and Wario are all steeling themselves for the worst, and then Luigi, Daisy, and Waluigi are terrified and begging that nothing bad happens to them.

*Mario:* The only one not afraid or worried. He accepts something bad is coming, he's preparing himself for it - or to kick Bowser's scaly rear in case something goes too awry. *Luigi:* Beyond scared straight (fitting for him). He knows shit just hit the fan. *Peach:* Worried and helpless-looking. She knows Bowser could kidnap her at any moment, even as he's about to troll her. *Daisy:* Manages to look afraid, unlike Peach. Weren't you the one to slap tf outta Bowser into oblivion in 3, girl?? smh *Wario:* That smile says "You wouldn't do it to me, right? Right??" *Waluigi:* Pathetic and coward-looking. Perfect for the guy that christens himself as Luigi's rival, but ends up lacking courageousness unlike the latter. *Yoshi:* Cute AF. Dat lip-quivering sells it. *Rosalina:* Not really afraid but more worried looking. Who knows what the guy that stole her Grand Stars might plan for her now? *DK:* Uncharacteristically afraid. This guy is the same that kicked Bowser's ass when he wasn't playable from 5-8. *Birdo:* Her pose looks like she's trying to (uselessly) bargain with Bowser, and I love it.

Seeing the little things like all their expressions/poses and the very slgiht variations in dialogue makes me sad that they took out the playable baddies. Their reactions to Bowser would be FUN to see!!!!

etail about it, since Luigi is supposed to be more of a coward than his brother Mario (just remember that Luigi is terrified of ghosts, with the exception of ghost animals, plus he's more afraid of creatures who are uglier or scarier than normal, as well as being more cautious and less risky than Mario). And of course, I like how Mario is the only one WHO IS NOT AFRAID of meeting Bowser, on the contrary, he is expectant and ready for whatever he does, he is even ready for a fight with him. Ironically, Wario is not the same, he seems to be afraid of Bowser because of his encounters with him in past installments and also, he is not as brave as Mario and because he knows that Bowser is almost always synonymous with "losing something", especially money and stars. And remember, Wario is greedy, ambitious and doesn't like to lose, especially something of financial value. And Waluigi is like Luigi and he's even almost identical in cowardice and just like Wario, he already knows how terrible Bowser is.

I like how Luigi is terrorfied when he saw Bowser. It's very fitting for him as Mario's cowardly but supportive and optimistic younger twin brother (even when he had to fight a fake Bowser controlled by King Boo in Luigi's Mansion for the GameCube and in the 3DS remake and when he got captured and imprisoned by Dry Bowser in Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS). What I don't like is how Daisy got scared when she saw Bowser when she had beaten him before in Mario Party 3 for the Nintendo 64 and that her bio says she's a tough as nails tomboy (worst is said in Mario Strikers Battle League, she cried when she lost). This is just flanderizing her into a either a complete coward or always emotional when nothing is going her way. DK also got scared when he saw Bowser but in Mario Party 6 he punched Bowser in the face with no fear like it was nothing, also flanderizing him into a coward.

And I think that’s bullshit. As every Mario Party fan knows, Daisy single-handedly punched Bowser to oblivion in MP3. And back then, whilst still being a tomboy, she wasn’t even as sassy and tough as she is now. I’m glad SMB Wonder is giving Daisy a chance to fight Bowser again, but I hate it when characters get reduced to being what they generally aren’t. The way I would have preferred it is Daisy having one hand on her hip whilst giving a bored expression and slightly rolling her eyes. Or you could have an alternate version where she’s rolling up her sleeves and preparing her slapping hands for a throwdown. There you go! I just threw some ideas I had on a whim, and they sound much better. Also, DK should have angrily stared at Bowser whilst shaking his fist in anger, referencing the rare event of when he punches Bowser in MP5.
