Not necessarily. It'd require some VERY specific enemy placement (probably a lot of Smashers, Hoppers, and Peek-A-Boos) and player movement to ensure that you're never even SLIGHTLY vulnerable at the end of each turn. And, ironically, any Ziggies beyond the Garden variant would utterly RUIN the challenge, since they can attack on your turn if they've got their Villain Sight active.

I made through this god-forsaken ultimate challenge with Toad, hanging, by, a FUCKING THREAD OF 2 HP!!! I couldn't have done this challenge blind without this.

When I beat this level, the only thing that survived was toad, the final midbosses walked next to my party when I deployed the drone. No survivors, excpet toad cause I had him get the hell otta there

James Marley The weapons you get for clearing these is proof of that though, and while they may not seem useful outside of Buddydome challenges, if the word about new Story DLC is true, then you'll have your chance to use those weapons there too.

I honestly didn't have too much trouble with this. Granted, I did all the previous challenges and picked up practically all the Skill Points out of chests so I was OP AF! Yeah, Luigi helped out a LOT with his abilities, Rabbid Peach tanked a lot of damage while also healing herself and everyone else, and Mario providing that amazing damage buff! Having two sentries with that buff made quick work of Bwario and Lava Queen when they spawned.

If you beating them before attacking, it should be very easy. I using Mario + Rabbit Peach + Luigi to beating this challenge without damage more than 200. Last turn that Toad get to finished line, there are only 1 enemy with HP50 appear. (The other I beating only 1 turn without attacking from enemy.) But you must beating them with first turn that they've appear. They will be not attack you on that turn. You can manage attack with all you got. Slide, Jump, and Group weapon including skill. Don't go too far from Toad, trying to beating enemy zone by zone and you will be successful on this mission.

i'm just thankful i beat this 5th try ಥ⌣ಥ I used Mario, Rabbid Mario and Luigi and it worked, i just needed mario and luigi to use bounce while RM used vamp. Toad was 30hp at the last few turns, my heart was skipping so many beats

Back when I did it I managed it first try with Rabbid Peach stiking by toad and healing him and Rabbid Luigi stoneing enemies. It wasn't easy but I managed.

Finally, I beat the Ultimate Challenge #4! :D (I would have beaten it yesterday, but the cruelest thing the game did to me there was that it exited itself out just when I was about to beat the level at the final bit with Princess Peach shotgunning Bwario and the Lava Queen. >:/) Anyways, I used Mario, Princess Peach, and Rabbid Yoshi to take care of the situation there. In terms of my experiences with the Ultimate Challenges, going from easiest to hardest, I say Challenge 3 was the easiest due to me beating it in my first try with Mario being the leader in the end, while both Luigi and Rabbid Luigi actually survived the onslaught of it all! Then Ultimate Challenge 4, believe it or not. That only took me a few tries to complete with the line-up choice I made there, although it should have been one lesser. After that, I think I'd say that Ultimate Challenge 1 is next since I used Mario, Yoshi, and I think Rabbid Luigi (although I definitely tried to do it with Rabbid Yoshi at first) to beat it, and that was quite the pain to beat, considering some of the cloned mid-bosses can easily wreck you with the combination of a lack of cover involved! Finally, I'd have to say the time spent on the Ultimate Challenge 2 (which took days to complete without anyone dying there) was the hardest to complete since I had to use Mario, Rabbid Mario (with his weapons fully upgraded to include the vampire effect), and Rabbid Yoshi to complete it for personal reasons. My God, that was an experience I don't want to revisit ever again! Not only did I need to upgrade both Rabbid Mario & Rabbid Yoshi's health just to have a better chance at survival, but even then I had to rely on a lucky Mario Hero Shot on El Calavera just to make sure I ended it with a victory without anyone dying at all on my end. Word of advice, don't do the first two Ultimate Challenges like I did; try to use a partner or two to help heal you in those challenges. It'll save you some trouble there.

That challenge is much more easy with Mario + Rabbid Luigi AND Peach, Peach can heal and protect all allies and have the same damages as Rabbid Mario (the boomdash isn't that usefull in my opinion, it hits your allies most of the time)

I did this just now on my second attempt. I used Mario, Luigi and Rabbid Peach for healing. Here's something I noticed. I WAS going to kill all the ice block dudes in the beginning and I did...except for one. So I just continued and killed everything up to the coffin mini-boss. I killed him and noticed NO OTHER ENEMY was spawning. I could walk to the finish line without anything else spawning except for that last guy slowly creeping up on me from behind. A glitch? The phirana flower didn't spawn and none of the other coffin dudes I'm seeing here below it. I could walk the pig tail with no enemies and just continue on to the goal.

Just beat this ultimate challenge, I have to say this one is the hardest of all. I can’t trust on Rabbid Luigi anymore as his vamp can’t heal toad! I tried Luigi and I kept messing up due to his terrible HP. Instead I used Rabbid Mario to deal with groups of enemies (Thanks for the magnet dance hammer combo) and Princess Peach to protect Toad while healing. I always trusted on Rabbid Mario since I got him, he always impressed me with his moves. So I used him 3/4 ultimate challenges. I can safely say that he’s my favourite character in the game. The following list is about the heroes I used to beat the ultimate challenge Mario: All Rabbid Peach: Challenge 3 Rabbid Luigi: Challenge 1,2 Luigi: N/A (I really wish to use him but every time I messed up due to his HP) Rabbid Mario: 1,3,4 Peach: 4 Rabbid Yoshi: N/A Yoshi: 2

TresorZinker2 Probably because there's no good cover on the first map which leaves either open to attacks or vulnerable to status ailments. This challenge took the least amount of attempts for me personally since I realized my second time not to go left at the juncture but instead go right. Much easier and a lot less stressful.
