Something about this is kind of bittersweet in a way, M fucked up, he knows that, at the end of the day, he regrets killing BF, so now he’s left with nothing to do, Pico is unarmed and probably fucked the second he runs into someone like MX or Mr Virtual, Bf and Gf are both dead, and M is empty In the end, no one truly wins And I think that’s kind of beautiful

I keep telling myself that something about this ending is still a victory for BF in a sense. Even in the face of imminent death, he stood tall and braved Ultra M's worst mindgames, tricks, and horrors. Something about BF's final stand shook M to the core, and now he can't shake the feeling that he might have made a grave error. That with them winning and him losing, he could finally break a long weary cycle. But BF is dead by his own hand. No second chance, thanks to him taking GF out of the equation too. So know he asks himself, is this really the thing he wanted? Either way it goes, he'll never get to see it. Stuck in a forever mad world, he has to see the same thing happen in his world. A perpetual loop of actual insanity playing over and over, no goalpost in sight to end it.

I feel like M never wanted to end BF, but having broken the deal ("Win 3 songs and you're free. Lose one and I kill you by my own hand") by running away, he was forced to do it, because else how could they respect him? And thinking about it, BF received a fairly mercyful kill... GF was killed (multiple times, if to believe the other moment she was killed by MX) and even used against BF, but BF was just killed there... Quick. M probably hoped that BF could free him, as BF fought so many others "like him" and got out victorious.

I like to think M tried to bring them back as puppets but it backfired somehow and they got away, still functionally dead or perhaps undead but now out of M's reach. So they can't even go back in and try again because they're out of lives.

Its kinda sad that through all the rage and anger directed at GF's family (mostly towards her father) I feel that the moment he killed them both he realized in that moment he was no better than her father, taking his revenge on two people wholly innocent of the crimes that were pushed onto them and now he stands there, no better than the man who subjected him to the hell of his own making and now has to stand there thinking over everything that had happened to that exact moment and then when the crushing reality of his now doomed actions he starts to have his moment of clarity but it is far too late to do anything about it. It was this moment that he realized what he is, a king of nothing, a god of an empty and hollow world filled with the bloodthirsty puppets of his own creation who given his recent declaration are an extension of himself he has no one but himself and his madness. Personally to me the worst part of it is, once again GF's father brought nothing but pain and misery for the sake of his own personal gain and in this mod's timeline and when the time comes that he learns that it was Mario who took him out I honestly hope it actually hurts him to the point that scars him for all time and turns him into the same hollow husk that Mario is. If anyone deserves any smoke because of this mod is him. I still stand by my thoughts that this was justified but it should've been her father that took the fall rather than the two.

This makes me think now, what truly is M, in the beginning he says he’s “almost” Mario, so if it really isn’t Mario who is this being? And how did it manage to feel a form of guilt even after conveying how much it wanted to harm the pair, especially GF, what drew daddy and M together as partners, and what inflicted this entity to feel such sorrow after completing the mission he tasked him self. At the end of the day this confident god of his own realm is not much different from us.

I have a headcanon that makes me feel less horrible about the ending. So believe it or not, Boyfriend and/or Girlfriend do die in other mods like this one, but it's more tragic with this. My headcanon that all these mods Boyfriend and Girlfriend are in actually occur in the same universe. And the rules are that if any character within the mod (most notably Boyfriend and Girlfriend) died, then any and all deceased characters are regenerated back to life before the next mod occurs, just in case. That's why even though BF and/or GF will die in a mod, they'll still be present for the next mod and the endless amounts awaiting them. Now you might be wondering "If BF and GF die all the time, why are they so emotional about it in Mario's Madness?" Well, my headcanon is that their deaths in Mario's Madness were actually the first time they had ever occurred. BF and GF were aware that they were going through mods continuously, but they weren't aware they were technically immortal through all of it (hence Boyfriend's emotional reaction to his lover's death). But after the two learned that they technically couldn't die, they were less worried about it and began to treat any death as less of a traumatic deal and more of a minor inconvenience. But I've made this comment far too long now, so I'll shut up now

Idk.... I believe it's more M's work here... He is pretty much a God here, so he can resurrect them at his own discretion if wanted... And maybe he did this and they both accepted their fate of now being "his playthings". Looking at all the encounters BF has, there is like not one that hints at M torturing them or anything... All the pain they have is either self-inflicted, or caused by a different Mario (or Luigi or whoever), so one can assume that M lets the creatures be. My headcanon is that M never wanted to kill them... at least not BF. He did offer BF freedom if he beats him in 3 songs, but since BF ran away did he had no choice but to kill him, as he broke their deal. And what does he do when BF returns? Not directly kill them... Instead he does a final song against him, to see if BF could actually beat him. Even gave him GF back to help, only to take her away again and use as a puppet to mentally torture BF. But when BF refused to give up, even after losing what he loves most, M simply did kill him to end this torture. I don't really believe in that "They are immortal" or whatever thing, because it's a kind of lame excuse for me personally... They probs just survived all the other encounters (Or M is a multiverse-aware being and those other encounters happened in separate universes) and now in this one they canonically die.

I personally don't care what the cannon ending is mainly because it doesn't fuckin matter you don't have to argue what the cannon ending is because at the end of the day there is this little thing called "mods", so if you really want a happy ending you don't need it to be the "Mario madness v2 cannon happy ending" you can make it either your personal head cannon or if you want just make a "Mario madness v2 alternative ending " mod, and if its not allowed you can just you know imagine your own ending or write fanfiction about the game with it's own personal happy ending. you don't need your happy ending to be cannon for everyone else, if you want a happy ending just go and make it happen in your own personal mod, imagination or fanfiction, no one is stopping you from putting your own twist on a story as long as you give credit and don't actively try to ruin the game do whatever you want so go ahead and be creative

I played some songs from the main game and legacy songs as Pico as a side story where: after Pico escaped from Mr L.exe he entered the forest and meets Turmoil. Beating him takes Pico to Bowsers castle where IHY Luigi is waiting for you. Beta Luigi is still mourning about Mario so Pico has to spare him. Pico has entered the forest again but instead of Turmoil it's Coronation Peach. Pico has come face to face with Mario.exe Pico tells him what have you done to my friends he explains he only has Girlfriend's soul and killed Boyfriend Pico angrily hears that he killed his friends decided to average his ex. Mario.exe defeated a exit has opened Pico can finally go home but now Pico mourns the death of his ex DD and MM has lost their daughter.

Kinda sad it ended in a stalemate while Pico is unarmed and still trapped. M probably wanted to escape, but he was lustful for vengeance and ended up killing BF, but it's safe to say he definitely wanted GF dead so he could get back at Daddy Dearest. And he did, but at what cost? Now he has nobody to talk to and nobody who can help him (except Pico but kinda iffy because knowing Pico, he would've said no.) M knows this is his fuck-up, and he knows he can't get out of it.

I have a feeling, this mod ends with this terrible ending which the creator cant do anything to add another 3rd version of this which it would stand Good ending and bad ending, due to this longest waiting they decided to added only the bad ending cause it would be taken a long period of time which means they didnt have the time to add the good ending, over 99% peoples who plays this mod thinks that we're gonna have a good ending but our heads are wrong, Ultra M somehow find a way to drag GF before the act 2 starts and act 3 starts with GF suffering BF which he cant stand a chance because he didnt rlly want to defeat his love one, on the 1 minute left, we all think that BF remembers in the past and the love will defeat Ultra M but we're wrong and he ended up die just like GF, Pico somehow survived but hes not good enough to take down Ultra M and it would stay in the game for the rest of the life at this point. In the future, we might think that MM and DD will take revenge on Ultra M after killing GF and BF, this decision is not in our hands.
