it is LITERALLY impossible for Nintendo at this time and age to make another opening like this. Next Level games gave it a truly unique, goosebump-inducing feel that cannot be replicated. Battle League's animation is a little more comparable to the Gamecube opening and that's a bit of a downgrade (Still super hyped for the game), but what we had back then is just pure gold.

This is still the best Strikers game. Battle League tried and failed. Why couldn't they try to replicate this energy. Characters ooze more with personality, better items and abilities too. Character theme were way more iconic. Even the shots felt much more powerful feeling. I get this game was much gritty with extreme showing expressions. But that's why I absolutely LOVED this game. I remember being hyped for Battle League, and there wasn't much after some time.

@@Noname-fb1mm he's not aimed at kids he's for all ages mainly 8 and or 10 and up. Shigeru does NOT intent mario as a small child's character. Mario has that bugs bunny vibe more than the modern mickey one. Though this also the reason why toy companies who make toys in a bit more darker style can very well pull off the same thing with license toys coming from Nintendo properties. You'd expect it all be for children but in the end it's beyond that for which is why toy companies can put Nintendo characters in commercials with characters who are from franchises with dark themes being more exposed to sight rather than simply refencing it. For example the Hot Wheels AI commercial look at the atmosphere of the cgi scenes then Mario and Yoshi jump in.

This one is so high energy, we got Peach doing a backflip, DK slamming the ground, Toad doing an overhead, showing off the Stages in a fast paced montage. Well it's not the first time. Luigi's mansion was meant to be a darker game. Mario was still seen as very childish and with the gaming public getting older at the time they wanted to make Mario broader. Even though they say the games are good some at Nintendo have said that Super Mario world and it's sequel Yoshi's island might have been mistakes as they are incredibly childlike.

Tbh I see battle leauge as more tame and comic book like but the armor is like from charged The soccer ball is a mashup of charged and og but the mega strike is more like the og Battle leauge is more hardcore with the mechanics it has but it really confuses itself as it's casual but trying to be competitive but I like game but it's different but good Though intro is eh

Am I the only one who thinks this takes place after the apocalypse? The environment is fucked up, and the once happy-go-lucky characters of the Mario universe have hardened into cold, heartless people who don't seem to care about anybody but themselves. Think about it: the only reason the Mario characters need these godlike abilities is to survive the new, harsh world.

It has been 15 years since the series came back. They have to appeal to the new audiance that have not played the series before. Plus I think this intense atmosphere from charged may be a bit too much for the younger kids
