It's a roster miracle. This is exactly my second favorite Mario Spinoff roster, with Mario Super Sluggers' being the first and Mario Kart Wii's being the third. Not only it's big, but it also has mainstays, old fan favorites, and newcomers that are excellent choices, even Pauline. Sadly, Sprixie Princess, Nabbit, and Cappy didn't get the spotlight. But the rest of our faves are here. Let's hope the next Spinoff game have a roster this excellent.

It also marks Pauline's first playable appearance in a spinoff game. Hopefully she'll appear in more like Mario Party and Mario Kart. And, thanks to Smash, we now have a playable Piranha Plant in a Mario spinoff game since Nintendo has a habit of making various enemies playable, but never the Piranha Plants. God bless Sakurai!

I definitely put this game in my top 5 favorite Mario spin-off rosters. Others include gems like Mario Kart Wii, Mario Super Sluggers, and Mario Golf: World Tour. Everyone here is a good pick; the Big Eight, secondary characters, major recurring stars, common enemies, and WTF choices like Chain Chomp or Fire Piranha Plant. Not to mention that Pauline, the first Mario lady, is playable for the first time ever. Mario Tennis Aces has one rocking roster!

In my opinion, this roster beats even Super Sluggers’. They HAD to have a big roster because it was baseball, whereas here they made a choice to have a large roster and it worked out. Both include Blooper though 🤷🏼‍♂️

Gavin Tan Goomba and Pom Pom are in Mario party, regular piranha plant is in smash, the Koopalings are in Mario kart, and wiggler is, well, dead.

@@toadtv4389 i mean, if we go that route, toadette is a pink toad with pigtails, king boo is a bigger boo with a crown, the koopalings are different bowser jr, dry bowser is a cooler bowser tbh, dry bones is a dead koopa. All of them appeared after paratroopa, does that mean they dont deserve to be in a game? No. Hell, goomba and paragoomba appeared in mario sports and mario parties eventhough they dont have hands. My point is, each character has their own fans who genuinely wanted them, and is okay to not like a character but that doesn't mean that everyone should hate it too.

Yeah those would be good characters, they should add King K Rool, and Funky as well we need Mario Kart 9. It’s very dissapointing Nintendo decided to port Mario kart 8 and tropical freeze.. like why didn’t they decide to add those updates for the WiiU Versions, and for switch they can make a whole new game for each of them a new Donkey Kong Country Game and Mario Kart 9.

I’m pretty surprised that they added in a character like Dry Bowser over someone like Metal Mario who’s actually supposed to be a different person since Smash, but other than that this is one of the best Mario rosters in terms of coming from an official game. (Of course nothing is going to beat CTGP-7 within the next decade, but that’s pretty obvious)

Zachary Jorgensen more like it’s surprising they bothered to full on make Dry Bowser’s model, get his sound clips, and give him his blue fire, instead of just copy pasting Mario, add a simple metal material to the model, add a small sound distortion and voila, new character!
