Even when I was a kid always thought it was lame how in all of the sequels you had to play as the minis. I’m not gonna be getting this remake because I bought and played the original on my Wii U a couple years ago but it’s a great game and I’m hoping they make new Mario vs DK games more like the first one

As soon as I said "Mario vs. Donkey kong" my 10 yo son said "I WANT THAT". He didnt even care that he had to wait almost 3 months for it. Donkey Kong is such a huge deal to my nintendo childhood and I'm glad my son loves him just as much as I do. Long live KONG!

I doubt it will be any kind of hit, but I hope this MvD remake does well enough to justify the effort. I don't want Mario Vs Donkey Kong to disappear from the face of the earth.

​@@lizard.y Right, and hopefully if they don't really have the ambition to make a whole new game... maybe we'll eventually get a remake of DK94... which reminds me, DID YOU KNOW THAT WAS IN DEVELOPMENT AT ONE TIME FOR THE GAMECUBE!!!? All caps, because I can still hardly believe it, I just found out the other day. There's even a short video of gameplay. Real awesome 2D animated style full of personality and charm. Then it apparently just disappeared without a trace. But... ya gotta think if they were showing it off, a lot of the levels were done already... really hoping this sees the light of day on the Switch 2...

Im getting this game specifically because its going back to the classic platformer style. I loved the mini Marios but they got old quickly. I was so excited to see a remake announced, I thought the series would be in mini mario hell

They should've done this remake on the Wii U or something instead of whatever Tipping Stars was. The mini mario games kind of peaked at Mini Land Mayhem imo. I hope this remake does well enough that we can get a brand-new game in the same gameplay style.

This one was clearly made to cash in on the movie's popularity. Not only highlighting the rivalry between the two but also the fact that its the platforming one. That being said, I really like how they pick the first one.

Im suprised that Nintendo decided to reuse Charles Martinet’s Mario voice in this game instead of using the (Unknown) Super Mario Bros Wonder voice actor.

I agree tbh, in stuff like the Dark Moon port I understand since the voice lines are more recent but the GBA ones for Mario Vs. DK just sound kinda old and off almost

Honestly I’m interested in the remake. I hope there’s more content to justify $50. I hope there’s more personality or something in the visuals. Because this looks like a New Super Mario Bros mod

I liked the minis games (at least on DS, never played the ones after miniland mayhem) but I hope this remake does well enough to warrant an all new puzzle-platformer like MvDK1 or DK94.

I am really happy this is getting a remaster as it happened to be the first time i ever played as a kid. Weve not had a mario vs dk in this format for years so im really hoping this does well even if it is a remake. Im hoping nintendo add more levels though or at least have something new included

Why is DK so obsessed with the Mario toys in the first place? Like dude was willing to commit manslaughter for these things. My head canon is DK is actually just really gay for Mario and he does all of this just to get his attention

I'm really glad that we're getting another Mario vs. Donkey Kong puzzle platformer, even if it's just a remake. The whole gimmick with the minis was cool at first, but it was starting to get really stale by the end of the DS era.

the game is clearly a ground up rebuilt remake, i was referring to how consistently the term ‘remake’ and ‘remaster’ have been foggy the past decade and certain games specifically have a lot of debate of which they are when in reality it’s really not that big of a deal

I feel like the next game in the series should include both being able to play as mario and the minis, since I feel like that would make everyone happy Mini-land Mayhem is my favorite in the series, I miss building my own levels and putting them online

@@lizard.y A problem with Tipping Stars is that Swapnote got taken down, and the whole point was to rate levels online, so without that the game just felt boring af The main levels were similar to Mini-land mayhem but there's no boss battles or minigames as far as I'm aware

The remake is unironically Soul vs Soulless tbh lol. Half of the assets are just reused from 3D World and Mario Maker 2 and it just kinda looks bland and uninspired lol
