Seeing Mario vs. Donkey Kong in HD is absolutely spectacular to me. This game was a big part of my childhood and seeing it remastered for Nintendo Switch, alongside plenty of worthwhile addition content, is amazing to me. It's shaping up to do the original a ton of justice!

You know there's one major beef I have with this trailer. They got so lost in the sauce writing the script for this trailer that they fail to mention a single time that this is a remake/remaster. There's a lot of people who may watch this and not have a clue that it was a Gameboy Advance classic, which it feels like they won't even acknowledge.

@@nefariosgliscor I understand that completely, yeah. I can't be mad that they're marketing it as entirely new though, given they're aiming at an audience which may consist of a new player base. A lot of companies tend not to mention their remakes/remasters are such unless they want to explicitly emphasize that it *is* a remake. And usually the audience who are aware of the original recognize that it is a remake anyways. I can only see it being problematic with games that are designed as sequels to earlier titles, i.e. TTYD, as that can cause confusion with some Easter Eggs or continuity details. Or more recently Sonic x Shadow Generations.

It would be a beautiful thing for one of the last lines Martinet ever said in a Mario game to be that. Let's just hope; based on the other stuff they've shown about the game so far, it looks like they may have scaled back the amount of speaking Mario does in the game (though the lines themselves are the original recordings for the GBA game, which is encouraging).

Just played the demo. Looks and feels great ....glad to see they separated the time attack scoring from the main level completion stars....I'm assuming it'll be a separate end game mode ....that was a gripe for me in the original having to speed run the levels right out of the gate to get a perfect completion. Very wise decision to break that off separately....the "casual mode" with no timer or deaths is WAY too easy imo, but good for the lil ones I suppose....Anyways, really looking forward to picking up the physical on release 👍

This will probably be one of the few last games to feature Charles’ voice. NO ONE will ever be able to replace him. He not only gave Mario a voice and personality but a soul too❤ Say what you want but to me, Mario won’t be Mario anymore. The only acceptable way to preserve his legacy would be using AI, which will become even more powerful and efficient.

I love MVDK. It's basically a modern retelling of the Donkey Kong GB game, which is a retelling of the Donkey Kong arcade game, I think. Which means this is a remake of a retelling of a retelling of a classic.
