5:31 I will never forget the moment when our choirmaster stopped everything at that very moment just to say "paradise isn't a place but a feeling."

Beautiful performance and what wonderful memories it brings back ... we sang this for our Christmas Concert in December 1971 with the orchestra at ENMU in Portales, NM with late maestro Mr. Ronald Shirley wielding the baton. Still amazed that our small school had such an outstanding music department. The “Te Deum” had been the major work at the Texas All State the year before and it received many performances in the years following. Here’s hoping that I hear it in a live performance again sometime soon. This masterpiece deserves wider exposure.

I was a member of the 1971 Texas All State Choir. It was a thrill.

Káprázatos! I sang this in a chorus in the 1979 Northeastern District Concert of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association, and our performance was awful - mispronounced Latin, mistimed cutoffs, miscued piano - in short, every mistake we had made in every rehearsal. Gratulálok to you for doing full justice to this masterpiece!

Why is this beautiful and intense score not known as well as Leós Janácek's "Glagolithic Mass"? I first heard both pieces in quick succession in the late 1970's and they've been linked in my mind ever since. Why didn't anyone ver record the two pieces together on one CD?

It must be an old disc, as I can hear József Réti's voice on t and unfortunately he died many-many years ago. Even earlier than Ferencsik. Very nice recording thank you for posting it.
