you can really see in her face when she starts that she is so nervous and still thinks like "shit, what am i doing here?" and when she then gets a little more into it and gets comfortable, you really can see how devoted she is with her lipsync. i was when i just saw the movie a few minutes ago also not really sure if its going to be a good performance but i just clicked it and was amazed, because marion is something else when she plays a role. great choice of a leading role and excellent performance. not that often you see people who act on such a high class level. the way they portrait her in the movie and the way she gives her life to the character..., you see her work of months in it. thanks a lot for such a beautiful performance from all actors and her. it was amazing. gonna rewatch it soon again :D

Because showing and feeling are two seperate things. Most of us consider that actions speak louder than words or facades. It doesn't mean that we think we're superiors or that we don't like you. honestly the british accent is easier to get than the american accent, at least for me... though, the hardest to understand is the australian, because i've never met any australian teacher, y'know? like, it's so easy to get a british teacher, or at least a french teacher with a british-ish accent that just teach you british phrases, same goes with american's, but australian's? honestly i feel lucky that one of my parent's friend is australian, either way i'm not sure i'd understand the australian phrases/accent

No offence to Cotillard, but Piaf was the greatest stage presence I've ever seen and that includes Judy Garland, Sammy Davis Jr. and Josephine Baker. Her singing (as great as it was) was only half of it; she lived a life that was almost beyond belief and it showed the minute she walked on stage.
