I honestly don't understand the hatred this card gets. There are farrr more problematic cards in the game imo. ie: Davis and Ken, Ruin Mode. I would 100% prefer a Mirage deck win Nationals over something like sec con.

We might be slowly moving to the age of card engines rather than boss monsters defining the deck. Purple decks that don't have a good dedicated support engine have homogenised into dark animals. Blue can basically pivot around the fish engine and sun moon engine. Yellow is basically the vaccine patamon engine. Green can be defined with the palmon plant engine with top end like leopard x. As we get a critical mass of draw, memory cheating, and generic search, it might become best to run engines and just hard draw or hard search for your top end. You cut off one head of the hydra, three more can spawn.

I am up for a fully nuclear ban list. I think the red light claw/night fang tamer needs to go along with the bt11 Mirage and BT16 gaogamon. All 3 of them are too good. Obviously, more stuff needs to go, too, in order for the game to be healthy. I have only been saying this sense bt16 as the game only seems to be getting worse and more toxic with each passing set.

Lots of my friend already play the card got mirage and i easily counter them with kingete and chuumon floodgate, the deck easy to counter in local shop battle, but when come to world championship with 100++ player etemon deck perform worst cant compete in, since theres lots of other meta deck.

Yeah, the Burst Mode is what made it strong, and other cards since then have built on that.

What Mirage does is far less egregious than what Magnamon X does, but the problem with him is what he enables in combination with other cards in his decks, including unstoppable OTKs with Burst Mode. He does need to be restricted, but it wasn't obvious right away (he wasn't even the best blue SR in BT11 at the time). Something in the Galaxy engine also needs to be hit or at least changed to apply to within archetype only.

Honestly bt16 Gaogamon is my 1st target, since it turned LFNC into engine. But ex5 Tamers are poorly worded i admit, so they they would need a new better worded versions.

They hit machgauga for the restand. Now they gave it a ex6 huankun. Which also gives the restands. and plays a floodgate. Balanced

The deck has been a top dog since BT13, winning events regularly. It just won European FINALS for the second time in a row. At some point, Bandai needs to apply their own criteria for banhitting cards: too strong and too relevant for too long.

Nationals format is historically the worst format of the year this year looks to be no exception. At the start of the game we had Gabubond and blue hybrids which followed. The next year we had BWGX and grandis hell followed by the Beelzemon X. Last year it was Anubis with the pre-banning on Apoc. This year looks to be about the same but with multiple unhealthy decks with not much following it up outside of tao ruin loop. The power level spike this year is very clearly a problem as not a lot of new decks are entering the format adding to players frustrations as what we have currently is that good. Mirage is a perfect example of this for the reasons you highlighted. it was good and fair back when it was first made but sense then only got stronger as sets introduce new generic tools to speed it up and make it safer to use. A lot of other decks are like this or their power was that high to begin with. it feels like we have been playing the same decks for the past year and i personally have been at my breaking point. Hopefully bandai can make a change but as others pointed out it needs to be a BIG change if they want to have any impact.

mirage bt11 is good, but i think what really makes the deck strong is the generic blue stuff that you can run on the deck. Also, if bandai restricts or bans mirage bt11 the deck dies instantly, I think its only fair to ban or restrict bt11 mirage if bandai prints a new mirage that can fill the spot, doesnt need to be as bonkers, but good enough for the deck not to die. And running more floodgates to stop mirage shinenigans is also a thing

110% agree. If it was banned that'd be it for the deck. Like people think we're whining when we say that but no.. there's no other card that runs well with that deck that would be a good sub. BT13 is very vanilla and would be GREAT against Xros Tamer decks but BM would be deck as well since you'd like never be able to use its free Evo option ever. I play Mirage from time to time but I truly think people hate it because its an answer to these other decks that have little cost for get pay off when it comes to deletion and such. There's quite a few decks that can counter this (high DP red, flood fields, 7DL), people just don't like getting a taste of their own medicine. At my locals the people who complained the most about Mirage were the Poop and Magna players before the hit, and even more so now. "Oh sorry your LOW cost level 3/4 can no longer get out 50 other monsters by turn 3... oh sorry your magna X was halted right before you could evolve to him."

Im not an avid Mirage defender but the deck is fine. "Do you know how many decks add cards to the hand? almost all of them. It's a flood gate." yeah because in a meta where decks pop off from drawing like crazy, getting massive bonuses from being deleted, and decks that don't even need level 6+ bosses, it stands against them since there's little to stop them from doing so. What baffles me is that there wasn't any discourse or adamant hate for this deck until BT16 - I hardly heard anything about it. But once these kinda decks pop up that greatly benefit from being killed or have protection against deletion (Magna / magna X armor purge), THEN people acted like this thing has always been a menace. Look at any competitive recipes prior to BT16, it was here and there.. Regardless, They would never ban it entirely, because then the deck is essentially unplayable, like not in a "oh.. we can find cards to sub out" no... it wouldnt see ANY playability. BT13 Mirage is meh at best , and sure you could run the burst mode but you won't likely ever be able to use it's free effect ever again. I built this deck because im tired of purple decks running rampant that you can't do anything against because as mentioned, being deleted or having sources in trash gives them GREAT payoff. Purple Hybrid blows to play against because the level 4s can basically go toe to toe against level 6s and Dusk/Velgr can pop near anything.

long story but I have my reasons for liking this card. It does what you'd think a level 6 flood gate should do next to venus. That being said, the cards around it that can support this card definitely prop it up next to the need for draw in this game. Seeing as how strong blue is in general at the moment I can see this card getting hit. Though I can see imperial taking it's place shortly after. Hot take I'm aware.

Mario .. the truth is the game is not more stable to run sec bombs because of the imperial decks just GAINING because they are deleted ... the secbombs were the ways to destroy most of the problems when they attack ...

There are lots of very unhealthy things in the game right now which are going under the radar because they might not win every event. If they solve one issue (such as Mirage), another one will just pop up. Someone below in the comments suggested a 'NUCLEAR' restriction was needed. I think these kind of things are far from ideal to the consumer but I can't see an alternative way forward to get the game in a healthier state apart from rotation.

It needs to go away, the deck has become so interactive to play against, the memory it prints is just absurd, the fact that mirage bt11 and mirage bm have the same memory gain effect via cards on hand is out of bounds, i have seen mirage players maxing to 10. Like...no other deck does that, not only the memory efficience it has, also it has the otk component. It perfectly can go from raising area with a lvl 3 and start its combo (with a training or mem boost in board), pair all that with the obnoxius floodgate effect that punishes every other deck for finding pieces (sure, mirage players will say you can control your hand size, guess what, only purple can do that on basis)...the deck has become a blue toolbox almost (mirage bt11 + good blue lvl 6). If they hit bt11 they will punish the deck hard...but it will still see play, with mirage bm and all the stuff that add cards to hand while gaining memory...it will still be capable of otk.

ok.. 1. Let's clarify...no you haven't seen players maxing to 10 memory. VERY rarely in wORST case scenario, but if someone has THAT many cards in hand.. I wonder how their deck could possibly have allowed for that? hmmmmm. Most I've ever gotten from optimal setting is like 4.. that's about it.. and that's from them *GASP* drawing like crazy. 2. ANY deck can pop off with a good training card or mem boost on field. That's the game. If any other deck has a mem setter and one of the previous cards, then YEAH any deck is gonna pop off.. I play Beelze and if I have a mist or purple mem boost.. then I pop the heck off.. 3. If we're talking banning it entirely... then no it's as good as DED. It's not like there's other diet versions of Mirage you can sub out.. no.. he's dead.. burst mode won't be able to capitalize since it will be near impossible to do it's free evo requirement. ANY time I have paid his 5 cost to regular digivolve, it's VERY rare I can get back a lot of mem. I mainly do it to get rid of annoying characters like Shinegrey, deathex, etc... Getting rid of Mirage BM is super easy. Purple hybrid Dusk/Velgr.. in fact its so balanced that you can either pop one of your purple digimon or your OPPONENTS purple digimon to kill it..usualy the latter..

@bauer0788 i have seen it in many games, vs decks that have too much draw power of course or abuse aces, but that doesnt justify a fact that you can deny me, the deck prints memory, yellow vaccine was limited for that very reason, and it was okay, you cant say mirage doesnt need a limitation now, considering all the results it has over bug tournaments. Also im not saying it should be banned, but limiting it is needed at this point.

Nah. Deck would be DED in the water if they banned it. BT13 one is like a Diet La Croix version.. and the older ones aren't remotely meta relevant. There isn't a single high level card they have banned because they know it would kill the deck entirely. lower level ones get banned because they're comparatively easier to sub out.
