This brings back a LOT of not-ugly memories. HTTYD will always have a special place in my heart, right there beside Pirates of The Caribbean, Jurassic Park, LoTR, Harry Potter, Shrek, and Madagascar. Star Wars isn't there because I only recently got into it. I don't experience much nostalgia with it. Nevertheless, The Empire Strikes Back is one of my #1 favourite movies.

There were dragons when I was a boy. Ah, there were great, grim sky dragons that nested on the clifftops like gigantic, scary birds. Little, brown, scuttly dragons that hunted down the mice and rats in well-organized packs. Preposterously huge sea dragons that were twenty times as big as the big blue whale. Some say they crawled back into the sea, leaving not a bone nor a fang for men to remember them by. Others say they were nothing but folktales to begin with. I’m okay with that. Legend says that when the ground quakes, or lava spews from the earth, it’s the dragons, letting us know they’re still here, waiting for us to figure out how to get along. Yes, the world believes the dragons are gone, if they ever existed at all. But we Berkians, we know otherwise. And we’ll guard this secret until the time comes when dragons can return in peace.

I was 8 when the first movie hit the cinemas. Being the freak for dragons I was back then my parents made sure that we went to watch it, but given that I was still pretty young I didn't get the movie at all, the plot went straight over my head and all I remembered were bits and pieces. But what I definitly remebered is how overwhelmingly impressed I was by everything; the dragons, the characters and the soundtrack. I fell in love with this movie whithout even realising what it was about. I didn't even remember the name (the only thing that mattered was the word "dragon") and it wasn't until years later, shortly befor the second movie came out, that my neighbours invited me over to watch a movie called "How To Train Your Dragon". Me, still being pretty much obsessed with dragons, didn't refuse, and as we started watching the movie the memories started to come back little by little. At the end my eyes were flooded with tears, I was floored once again by how amazingly well done this movie is. All those years I spent longing to watch this movie again came crashing down on me and I just couldn't keep it in anymore. Needless to say I'm still very much into dragons and this soundtrack holds a very special place in my heart. It is the theme of wonder and nostalgia and I connect so many feelings with it, I can't express how overly enthusiastic and happy I get everytime i hear this. Well, I guess that's all i wanted to say. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
