Guess who baked a lot with that same mixer your Grandma gave you!! Sure did!! I used to take Christmas cookies to the high rise seniors ( this was in the 70s;) and my Aunties gave me the mixer... they were born 1898-1902☺️

Originally the Red Velvet cake was red because they put vinegar in it and that has a reaction to the coco turning it rusty colored!

Honey, how about a series for fall, winter on like banana cake, zucchini bread/cake, carrot cake, all that stuff that sounds crappy but really tastes good;) Just an idea. How about cheese cake? Only if the recipe base is good. My favorite velvet cake recipe is my red velvet cake recipe on this channel. Instead of red I'd just dye it blue and voila :)

The little parts of green were due to undermixing. The yellow from the eggs mixed with a little blue makes that green.

The written recipe is buttermilk. To make buttermilk I prefer to use vinegar and half & half, if I don't have half & half I use whole milk.

I know it’s not your fault there is along of ignorance when it comes to you tubers and people in general when they make this particular cake . but a red velvet cake is more than just it’s color. The red in velvet was a way to celebrate and remember the black ancestors and good white folks that fought along side them for their freedom. It is a staple comfort food for freed slaves in Midwest and the south. Yes you can add whatever color you want but the red velvet cake is symbolism of overcoming slavery , mass death and for black liberation. So In closing any American dish particularly soul food which all originated from black people is more than just “ it taste good” there is a powerful meaning behind it . Learn your culture, understand your history Sis people died for your lineage to survive so that you could be born 💯✔️
