Both mariska hargitay and dick wolf should be proud of all they have done, for tv, for sa, and for all the future generations they will touch now that it's immortalized in the Smithsonian museum. I've watched the show since I was 11 and my daughter who is 13 recently became a fan so I'm proud to say I now have a second gen svu/olivia benson fan! 😂❤🎉

I legit think she’s got the same type of humor mesh up of Jim Carey & Carol Burnett. Her humor is not over the top but it is just so delightful 😂. I absolutely LOVE Mariska lol. Not just because of just all this wonderful work she does, great actress. But we do not give her enough credit for her comedic style. We don’t. Her humor is literally not talked about enough. This lady is hysterical 😂

Speaking as an archivist here, the gloves were required because the oils on our skin can break down fabrics over time, and after its donation, the Smithsonian folks were now responsible for its long-term preservation, which means no bare-hand touching of the outfit. Yes, even by the person who wore it. (I'm sure in the MCU there was some fictional curator who just lost it after Cap stole his uniform back and then got into a fight with Bucky and then fell into the Potomac with it. So much damage to the fictional historical artifact, lol!)

FYI, there is a video on the Internet with Jane Mansfield and her three young children. Mariska Hargitay is maybe a year and a half old. What a precious video. I don’t remember if the interviewer was Jack Paar maybe.

I'm a month late to this party but I really want to tell this story. A couple of years ago, I set my text tone to the Law & Order "dun dun" while I was high and, of course, completely forgot about doing that. A few months later, my wife and I were on a long road trip. I was driving and wanted her to text my parents from my phone giving our location etc. I told wifey to take my phone off silent so we'd know when they responded. Since it was plugged into Car Play, when their text came in, our very loud musical rock-out was interrupted and the whole car was enveloped by that DUN DUN sound that I had forgotten about. We were simultaneously thinking "WTF" and laughing so hard we had to pull over. One of my favorite life memories.

Yes Mariska is Jane Manfields daughter and her father was Mr. Universe! Mariska was actually in the back seat of the car that killed her mother on that terrible night. Her mother and father were very beautiful and popular celebrities and it's no different for beautiful Mariska.❤❤

Im happy SVU is longstanding and doing well. the entire cast are good pple :) thank you Seth, this is a wonderful break from poltitics. its amazing to hear Law and Order has a place in American History. this is so cool. congratulations to the show and NBC. I began watching law order when it was chris noth and jerry Orbach. I miss Jerry O. important decades of shows. (I recall in watching crime tv like SVU. I didnt know abotu the far right using pick up artistry tricks until tv began looking into men who use those tactics are actually abusers. on the internet pick up atristy is branded as safe or routine dating and its not. its abusive training and mistreatment I wouldnt have known unless I was warned. tv helped me understand domestic voilence was happening to me.)

SVU is forever part of their wedding ceremony.... My father and I were both designated as Justices of the Peace - which means that we could perform marriage ceremonies. My father was getting quite old, but still in demand, and so I would often drive him and take care of his paperwork. There was a "sketchy" request for a ceremony at this not-great hotel. I went with my father. We arrived. The beds in the room were unmade, and there was clothing on the floor. The couple was dressed but not wearing shoes. Honestly, I have been through some weird weddings, and as long as there is no danger to me or my father, no problem. There were two other people in the room, and one of them was filming the ceremony. What I will never forget - and neither will they, since it was filmed - was that the television was on, and there was a really graphic description of an SVU victim during the whole of their ceremony.
