Marissa, thanks for your helpful video. My daughter has just bought a Brother KH881 like yours. It was knitting OK but has started leaving a length of unknitted yarn across the front of each row. I suspect it's not feeding correctly or being caught on something as the carriage moves along. After your long experience with this machine, is this something you've seen and can you point to how we can fix it? I note that there are some rotating brushes underneath the carriage. I'm not clear on what these do. Are they guides for the yarn?

If the length of yarn is attached to the end edge needles then it’s possibly a setting that needs to change under the carriage. I remember googling it when I first got an 881. As long as the brushes move freely, don’t have yarn wrapped around them and aren’t too bent then these won’t be the problem.

@@marissathereze6147 Marissa, thanks for your prompt reply. The brushes all move freely. I found a little fluff under one and cleaned it. I'm interested in your comment regarding a "setting" under the carriage. What settings are there that might require adjusting? I note that the yarn gets left across the workpiece when it pops up above the top guide on the edge of the sinker plate. When operating normally it sits just below the plate close and parallel to body of the knitter.

@@marissathereze6147 OMG YOU ARE A WONDERFUL HUMBLE TALENTED LADY. Thanks a million for this precious information I ordered 2 sets of sponge bar replacements from the UK. Love to listen to the Expert. YOUR VIDEOS ARE SO WELL EXPLAINED, IN DETAIL STEP BY STEP, AND EXCELLENT CLOSEUP. I had already replaced the sponge bar in 2013 but in 2014 I was aggressed "tortured " and paralyzed wheelchair. In 2015 I was desperate as I wanted to knit so I was given a LAST CHANCE and HOPE to walk. Underwent spine surgery which was successful but no desire to knit although I got back on my feet. A week ago after watching videos on Brother Knitting Machine I got HOOKED and got my KH894 and began to play with it. The needles not lying flat on the bed worried me BUT I HAD CHANGED THE SPONGE BAR IN 2013. Today I took the bar out and the sponge was FLAT. 9 years the machine was in the box. I want to make use of my last 8 years and knit my heart out. Thanks for sharing caring and making a 70 year old SMILE again. A big hug🥰🥰🥰💖💖💐💐💐👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆😘😘😘💗💗💗

Yes its the tab, make sure you put the sponge bar back in with the sponge facing down! :-)

Bonjour. J’ai la même machine mais j’ai un souci avec la cames orange en plastique sous le chariot. Quand je met le bouton de sélection sur KC une cames se met bien dans la position haute alors que la deuxième reste en bas. J’ai ouvert le chariot, nettoyé il est comme neuf. Je n’ai rien vu qui pouvait bloqué. Tout le reste fonctionne très bien sauf la came cite. Avez eu ce souci ? Si oui pouvez vous m’aider ? Je suis français et je ne trouve aucune aide. Merci d’avance.
